I don't understand "SEC pride" anymore.
Before the playoffs, there was reason to cheer on your conference because it could affect your team based on perceptions of its strength.
Now, it doesn't matter.
If you're cheering on other SEC teams, you're essentially cheering against yourselves in recruiting.
With the exception of an SEC team facing Florida State, why would any self respecting Florida fan cheer on Georgia (our rival) to begin with? Much less Alabama, LSU, or anyone else that we actively compete against in recruiting here in Florida.
frick Georgia. I hope you all lose big.
I hope Penn State wins it all. Of the remaining teams, we recruit against them the least.

Pulling for pedos is even a bit much for UF fans.

Yep, after everything they’ve been through, they deserve it.

You should.
But there is a difference in who you want to win and who you think will win.
The nice thing about being in the playoff is I can still take the approach where I want UGA to win and I don't care who wins the other games because as long as UGA wins out it doesn't matter.
I don't really have to worry about it.

It does actually.
Less success = smaller NIL money because of losing donor interest (with the exception of A&M throwing money at it no matter how bad they get)

UGA has nothing to lose.
We are playing with a back up QB.
But a team that refuses to die....

I can't argue with your logic. I root for Georgia and any team that can help Georgia. Except Georgia Tech and Tennessee. I can't root for those two under any circumstances.

Never root for a rival unless it helps your team. That said if Georgia plays Penn State for the natty I will hold my nose and root for Georgia.
frick Penn State.

We'd only play PSU to make the championship game, not for the national title.
So... you've got that.

Typically, I'd 100% agree with you.....but ND dude. I fricking hate ND. I hate tOSU. I really hate PSU. There's no way I can root for any of those teams over my SEC brethren. Just can't do it.
Now if it were Texas vs. Boise St. or some shite for the chip, I'm all in on Boise St because I don't hate them.

I don't. Georgia is the only team talented enough to play with OSU. I'd rather an SEC team win it all.

SEC pride matters because it should affect playoff invitations and tv revenue in the future.
All the other conferences are jealous of us because we are the best conference by far.
Having an all SEC final would just hammer the point home again.
And UF may benefit come playoff selection as early as next year if you make the bubble or are battling the seeding to host a game.
We should hope the SEC continues to win these games.

Whoever I root for makes no difference to nothing but my feeling.

Have to agree with you. When Boise and ASU can get a bye and SMU/Indiana can get at-large bids with their schedules, I don't think conference notoriety and SOS mean much of anything anymore.

agree with this also. I've felt this way a lot longer than this year, though
