No worse than anyone else overall. When you have 13 teams make bowl games, you're going to lose some of them

Vandy and Arkansas were great yesterday. Oklahoma and A&M lost close games. The only embarrassment has been Tennessee, and probably the SEC should forbid that the Vols go to post season next year whatever their record.

Parity makes the game more interesting.
OU and a&m good for parity.

In the era of transfer portal and opt-outs, bowl game outcomes mean less than ever.

We're spoiled.
We expect to win every non-conf game. That's not a bad thing as a conference, but the odds are always well against it happening.
It's like the U.S. Military. Units that lose are roundly criticized within the ranks. Thus the black stripe (river) on the 1st Cav patch.
The SEC, as a fanbase, has a similar mentality when we chastise each other over losses ... we cast shame. It's raises expectations in doing so.
What makes it worse is that B1G fans use it against us on social media. Hell, even Navy fans are bragging about their win over an SEC opponent. That is telling. It tells us how we are viewed, as a conference, and it tells us how badly we are despised as a conference as well.

Yes and no.
They don't really show us how good a team in a bowl was in the season that is ending.
But they do give us indicators of how well a coach is relating to their players (getting them to play in the bowl), how well he's building the depth of the team (as backups play due to opt outs) and give us some information on the talent coming back the following year.
Bowls are much more about the quality of the coaching staff and looking ahead to the following year than a cap on the current year. People need to make that adjustment in their heads.

The same shite happens every year without fail in SEC World.
SEC takes some embarrassing losses in Week 1 and Week 2. LSU always volunteers to go first. "This is looking like a down year in the SEC."
By the middle of October, it's "the SEC is a gauntlet and every team in the conference is the frigging '85 Chicago Bears."
SEC starts losing bowl games and "this was a down year in the SEC."

1/3 of Ok's team is in the portal.

Yeah. That’s why I would be concerned as an A&M fan. Not the outcome. It’s a random bowl game.
But Klein didn’t look ready for prime time at all in that game. The coaching was more concerning than the loss.

The A & M loss last night was a bad one for the SEC.

I thought Arkansas suffered through the loss of 20+ portal entries ... yet they won their game.
Mizzou will be going into their bowl game having lost literally a ton of players to the portal. They still expect to win their bowl game.
SoCal was playing without a dozen of their starters lost to the portal and to injuries. They were a 6-6 B1G team vs an 8-3 SEC team.
My point is, shite happens. Bowl games still mean a lot, obviously, or else we wouldn't be having this debate.
That game last night was lost, imho, more because of strategy than transfer portals or opt outs.
Edited: ACC to B1G

Inevitably said by fans whose team didn't win the SEC championship. It's a little brother thing, trying to belittle the accomplishments of a rival.

It was a down year in the SEC. There’s no way around it.

It's because the SEC has been circle jerking for 20 years acting like if one team wins the national title it makes the entire conference a winner
