they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 45:7

7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

I’m not here to knock anyone’s religion. You are free to worship whatever god/gods you want or to have none at all. But I can’t help but say, think about this statement long and hard and the actual implications behind it. If your belief is that god is infallible, and according to this biblical quote, god is the creator of evil. Doesn’t that make evil a necessity and therefore not “wrong”? I mean, if god “created it” it obviously serves a “purpose” so those who do “evil” are still, in fact, doing “god’s will”.
You can get upset with me for pointing this out and downvote away all you want. I get it. People don’t like when you bring up anything that could possibly be construed as negative against their religion. I’m simply pointing out the implication behind a statement like that.

There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

Don't get too excited. You are the billionth person to misinterpret the meaning of this scripture.

I welcome your input brother
I don't think any of us fully understand how evil existed in Heaven before our time on earth. And how God expelled that evil. et cetera
To not get too in-depth on that on this day, after that, we know that God creates evil in the hearts of those who hate him, to fulfill his purpose when he decides to.
There are much deeper explanations from way better people than me, but today is not the day for that discussion in my opinion. Living and dead. The best may be CS Lewis.
God bless, man. Merry Christmas.

I read it as i create peace and adversity in your life (in regards to Israel) the adversity is meant to propel you to holiness and to draw near when your actions have seperated you from my peace..

Seems more to me that God is all things. He is reality itself. He is good and evil, for he is all. It does no good to wail against good or evil, for it just is and cannot be unmade. What does do good is to recognize the two and act accordingly.

quote:If words (scripture) can mean different things to different people....then it has no true meaning and is useless in the context it was written. It either means what it says....or it is a flawed scripture because it means many things to many people. Religious text are famous for this flawed type of primitive writing. Why is this in the football forum anyway?

I don't look at it as a necessity, moreso a bad habit that every man picks up before they understand the "Truth." I can't square why he needed to create it, and it doesn't matter to me if the linguists want to say evil means calamity, distress, adversity, etc. It is still bad.
Anyway Merry Christmas everybody.
I still love Jesus and will one day have understanding. Until that day, I am trying to figure out why Napier calls the plays that he does. That really doesn't make any sense.
