1 and 2 Seeds receive Byes into Semis
4 v 5 / 3 v 6 in Quarters
No Conf Champ lock in. Just top 6
The current format waters down the regular season, waters down the Bowls, and waters down the playoffs.
I seem to recall there was no great public outrage that 2 time defending national champion Georgia who had won 28 straight and 40 and of their last 41 lose by 3 points in Atl and get left out but for some reason this year we need 9-3 Clemson and 11-2 SMU bc of why exactly? Undefeated Cincy left out in 2020 but we need Boise State and Indiana in this year? When did this turn into an inclusivity Trophy over night?
They won’t change it to 6 but they should. This sport is being ruined by these money grubbing cock suckers.

Anything is better than this. The 9-12 seeds were all blown the frick out.

8 teams. Make players lose a year of eligibility for transferring.

This is so dumb, you guys would rather have fewer playoffs games and more bowl games that don’t matter?
Also, it doesn’t water down the regular season, it does the opposite. If you lose a game or two a team still has incentive to play since they have a chance. Games later in the year now still matter compared to if fewer spots were available.
I swear the anti playoff expansions crowd lacks any sort of logic abilities.

It’s not a real chance. If you lose, you weren’t good enough in the first place. Once Texas loses in the semis (I have them beating ASU), you’ll figure it out.
We’re being milked. You are too dumb to realize it yet.

So don’t watch? Personally, I’d rather watch a few more playoff games rather than meaningless bowl games full of opt outs.
If anything you guys she be thankful for expansions as that’s Ole Misses only chance of getting into the playoffs (ever).

So since teams only win with incentive, why exactly did playoff lock Bama lose to the worst team in the conference who had no incentive to win, Oklahoma?
This kind of vacuum minded thinking is what has you clapping your hands at the bright lights on your television as you spent your weekend watching watered down horseshite football. You’re actually arguing the first round was good the last 24 hours? You’re a pawn being fed slop out of a trough and you like the taste lmao

If it were a 6 team playoff, Ohio State might not even be in it and they might win the damn thing

Opt outs became a thing when the playoff made bowls second tier instead of a celebration of a season. Again, it’s a farce. The 9-12 seeds ALL got blown the frick out. How is it a chance?

Or maybe he’s just speaking objectively that the whole thing is watered down and shitty instead of being a subjective biased observer of his own team you fricking clown lol

Ok? That’s a hypothetical based off them beating a flawed Tennessee team. They just won 1 game. Georgia would’ve been favored to win the CFP last year after losing to Bama in Atl. Don’t know what your point is

lolno. Bama would have been favored over Georgia again on a neutral field

They weren’t in 2021 championship after beating Georgia by 3 touchdowns in ATL. But keep living in your delusion if you think this bullshite is actually good for the game, I won’t stop you

You sound retarded. This is how the playoffs alway have been. If you don’t like college football just say that.

waters down the Bowls
The transfer portal exodus did that, not the expanded playoff. Now more games have meaning.

You’re quoting Colin cowherd as an authority to validate yourself and calling me a retard. I’m gonna let you marinate on that one for a bit lmao

The fact that you didn’t understand the point wasn’t Cowherd, it was score of that national championship game further proves my point.

First round playoff blowouts = bowl games nobody cares about

This first round was all about making money.
Notre Dame was given the easiest match-up to be able to hype them for the next 10 days ad nauseam.
This really isn't all that different than the start of March Madness.
Meanwhile, did anyone expect that there would be so much crying about 3 loss teams not making the bracket?
