The pregnant ex-girlfriend of University of Georgia wide receiver Colbie Young has asked for his criminal charges to be dropped, stating in an affidavit that Young did not commit any violent act against her or her unborn child.
quote:
Despite her request and affidavit, Young remains suspended from the UGA football team following his arrest on allegations of battery, including assault on an unborn child, after an altercation with the woman.

The woman has repeatedly contacted the prosecutors to drop the charges against Young, and his attorney has called for his immediate reinstatement to the team activities, stating that the affidavit exonerates him.
This is 5 weeks ago. Wtf is going on? It also say he will not join the team until the legal troubles are resolved? That prosecutor just wants to hurt him and keep him off the team at this point. We badly need him.

I’m guessing we find out more very soon-
Sources told ESPN on Tuesday that Young, who had been suspended from the team since his arrest, will not be allowed to play in games until his legal matter is resolved. He has an arraignment scheduled for state court in Athens, Georgia, on Dec. 10.

If the prosecutor doesn’t drop charges they need to sue for malicious prosecution. We need him bigly

His arraignment is today.
If the charges are dropped, and all signs are pointing that way, he'll be in New Orleans. He's been practicing with the team in the interim .

He’s been practicing? That’s amazing news

Yeah, Kirby said as much a few weeks ago when the GF wanted to drop the charges.

Yep. As soon as the woman moved to press charges, he started practicing again.

The court in Athens might not drop charges.

The DA's office in Athens is still controlled by progressive turds. I'm sure it's killing them to decide whether to bury a football player or let him go since he's black. I have no idea how this will play out.

Can someone update after I’m at work

Dropping charges is up to the court. Prosecutor isn't obligated even if she recants.
There are people close to the program with doubts about his likelihood to be available.
...
All that said, is he less or more important with Gunner under center?

Charges weren’t dropped. Sounds like no chance we see him this post season.

Still time. He waived his right to the arraignment today and plead not guilty

Wonder what the timeline if that could be.

They are just being vindictive, with an uncooperative witness this stands no chance.
