A&M and Mizzou Sure Were Right About Texas

I've watched more college football in my lifetime than I care to admit. Obviously have watched plenty of Texas games and never had much of an opinion on them other than to know that they are often overrated by ESPN and co. Heck, as a lifelong Georgian, I don't even know any Texas fans in real life, so never really cared about them.
As a member of this board, I've have heard A&M and Mizzou folks talk about how toxic Texas Admin and Fans are but never really cared or believed them, chalking up their chatter to little brother syndrome and jealousy.
But I'm here to tell you that I was dead wrong not to believe ya'll. Holy smokes what a toxic, dumb and entitled group of people. It's been nearly 20 years since their program was nationally relevant but the amount of un-supported, delusional, and hateful trash you people talk is just jaw-dropping.
For whatever reason, Sankey literally tried to hand the conference title to them on a platter this year. Imagine being given THAT schedule in your first year here. Wetting the bed and getting dominated by an inconsistent Georgia team TWICE, and then having the gall to immediately TALK MORE trash and act like you're still God's gift to football.
It's just weird, bizarre, and frankly, stupid behavior. Wish they had never come to the SEC and glad their fans were too lazy to show up in Atlanta this weekend because we just don't want to be around them.

How are Georgia fans melting after a win? This feels so weird.

"dominated"

Someone’s on her period.

"dominated" he says, as he wins in OT with a starting QB who was in traction the picosecond after the cameras turned off.
The fact of the matter is this:
When the Bulldogs lose in the playoffs you can hang the banner that says you beat Texas twice in one regular season. Especially if Texas goes further than you and ends up ranked higher than you at season end.
If the Bulldogs and Longhorns meet againf or all the marbles and Texas beats you for the national championship, the previous two games won't matter to anyone except bitter, sour old Georgia fans like you.
I'm sure your narrative will be "This is so unfair! You shouldn't have to beat a team 3 times! Should be best 2 out of 3 like in baseball" when that happens.
The true reality that Georgia has yet to come to grips with is this: you think the SEC schedule is a gauntlet, but the reality is playing the Texas Longhorns is the gauntlet.

Look for them to MAYBE have one more good year then go into the cellar for 3-4 AT LEAST.
Texas has ZERO football culture. The only way they are able to win is have a mediocre coach, or a coach like Sark who is too damaged to be a coach anywhere else. They let them build a mediocre team. And then just BUY BUY BUY. They buy refs, they buy conference officials, they buy players.
Luckily their kind of spending is not sustainable AND as you said their program is no longer elite, so we only have to deal with them every once in a while.

With the number 2 class last year, number one class this year, and most likely top 2 class next year we're gonna be competing for playoff spots for the next decade. By then Missouri would probably be playing for the Big East Conference where they belong.

Count on it. Just look at the trend line.
1st time they beat us by 15.
2nd time they play us to a tie.
3rd times the charm.

You know it, I know it, and they know it.
Hence the melt.

One thing I've learned over the last 20 years is that the internet (and message boards specifically) aren't real life. It's a charade. I see many people up in arms about Texas fans simply because of how some of their 19 year old trolls post online. I don't know any texas fans in my personal life. My only interactions with texas fans hve been in the 2018 sugar bowl, austin earlier this year, and Atlanta last weekend. I've found their fanbase to be no different than any other big boy football school that I've been around. A couple of bragadocious blowhards that have an inflated view of themselves, a couple of overly outwardly friendly folks that want nothing more to mix and mingle and have a good time with the other team to make a good impression, and thousands upon thousands of nameless faceless NPCs walking around in the background.
With texas in particular they do very much have a "bama of the big 12" kinda vibe with how they view themselves, but man I wouldn't let my opnion of them as a whole be swayed by what tigerdroppings posters act like.

Texas lives off of what if games, 10 win seasons and one title in almost 60 years. They’re happy with just being better than their neighbors. For some odd reason, they believe it extends east of the trinity River and it doesn’t. Most Texas alum and fans I have lived around are happy with just being the Auburn of Alabama.
