I hate to beat a dead horse, but will Auburn ever regain relevance as a football program?

I recently went back and looked at Auburn’s football records of late and was actually shocked at how bad they’ve been lately. I guess it caught me by surprise because I never pay any attention to Auburn with the exception of the Iron Bowl. Since 2020, Auburn’s records are
6-5
6-7
5-7
6-7
5-7
4 losing seasons in a row. I keep hearing how bad the losses Bama had this season were to Vandy and Oklahoma, but at least those teams are going bowling. Auburn hasn’t been to a bowl since 2020 maybe??? Until I saw this, I couldn’t understand why Auburn fan were celebrating Bama missing the playoffs so much. Now I get it. Because they’ve had nothing else to celebrate. I feel sorry for them now. Everyone, please say a prayer for Auburn fan, they’re going through it

They’ll catch lightning in a bottle soon. They always do.

Recruiting has been reestablished.

Saban’s no longer at Bama.

And anyone who watched us this year saw that we lost 2-3 games solely because of a really, really inconsistent quarterback.

So I think we’ll get back to winning 8 games pretty soon. Throw in that Auburn chaos every 4 years or so and the universe will feel right again.

All they need is a good coach and a good AD and they’ll be right back in it. VOLS were down in the dumps for a while because we had neither. We got both and have been doing ok since then.

Eventually, yes. But either way, it does not effect the sharp decline that bama is facing which is what you are trying to make yourself feel better about.

Yes, they will be. Things are cyclical. Most of us over 40 realize that.

Auburn has done a number on itself trying to keep up with Bama. And in doing so have set themselves back a decade. They are currently working through this self imposed purgatory with Brother Hugh's guidance.
The fly in the ointment for them now is the pecking order in the SEC has changed with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma. It's going to be much harder for them to be relevant if ever again.
