Uh...what the hell is this list. It can't be football; there's no way ND is number one. There's no way LSU is over A&M. There's no way OSU is over Oregon.

It sucked yesterday when it was posted as well.

Sagarin is far from perfect it’s just another model.

Just saying, the people who post this on here are free to put their money on it if it’s so great

I actually like the Sagarin rankings.. it isn't an exact science, but I think you get the teams in a general range that is right, then make some small adjustments based on H2H and other factors..
Top 13 Teams per Sagarin
Notre Dame
Texas
Ohio State
Oregon
Alabama
Georgia
Penn State
Ole Miss
Tennessee
SMU
Indiana
Colorado
South Carolina
Sure, some of the rankings are off within that group, but overall, that's a solid Top 13 teams for a computer program to spit out. Besides Colorado who is debatable, the Top 12 teams are on this list imo.
For Example..
Ohio State 91.40
Oregon 90.86
Those teams are basically the same.
Oregon beat them by 2 at home.. Again.. basically the same..
I think Sagarin does a really good job.. but they aren't perfect.

Oregon also beat BSU.
Ohio State lost to Michigan...at home.

I agree. Again.. Ohio State belongs in the Top 10 teams imo. Sagarin confirms that ranking.. I don't look at the order.. I look at the teams.. and each one is within 3-5 spots of where they should be imo.. up or down.

Sagarin has a few different models. The one above is NOT designed to rank teams based on "merit" as much as the one Vegas would use as setting SMU vs LSU as a pick'em on a neutral field.
I believe the Sagarin one that attempts to balance that with actual wins/losses which was use by the BCS was the
Sagarin Golden Mean
1 Texas
2 Georgia
3 Oregon
4 Ohio State
5 Notre Dame
6 Penn St
7 Alabama
8 Ole Miss
9 Tennessee
10 SMU
11 Miami
12 Iowa State
13 South Carolina
14 Indiana
15 LSU
Other SEC in top 30
16 Texas A&M
20 Missouri
28 Oklahoma
30 Florida

The fact that they have ND as #1 immediately discredits the rankings.
ND has a good team but they aren't the best team.
My perspective is a combination of team performance and the quality of the team in terms of players and coaches. I include the later measure due to teams like Alabama who have not performed particularly well but who have tremendous potential to match up against the best in the playoffs.
So something like this:
1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Texas
4. Ohio St.
5. PSU
6. ND
7. Tennessee
8. Alabama
9. Indiana
10. Ole Miss
11. Miami
12. SC

The deal with PapaDunk was to do the avi, not the logo.
Plus, Chicken told me to change my logo when I had it as the LSU one for 24 hours after losing a bet, so...

It’s funny everyone complains about Texas’ schedule yet they have played a tougher schedule than 7/10 top 10 teams in sagarin

I'm curious how his algorithm spat this out as well.
Notre Dame might be 11-1, but they've played the 62nd ranked SOS. SMU is the only top 10 team that's played an easier one (by his own rating system) - at 63rd. They have an identical record and are 10th.
I know he places a lot of scoring, and Notre Dame has had a lot of blowout wins. Considering the other top teams are having trouble blowing out lesser competition, that's probably why ND is getting the nod.
I personally don't think that actually identified Notre Dame as the best team, but in his case I can only presume that everyone else struggling to put away lesser teams is helping ND.

I doubt anyone is batting an eye at OSU being ever so slightly above Oregon. There are myriad other reasons why this list is utter horseshite.
ETA: nevermind my brain forgot that OSU has 2 losses now. Yeah they should absolutely be ranked a good bit behind oregon. List sucks.

To be fair, SEC teams are complaining. I have no idea if that same sentiment is shared nationally.
That being said, the A&M game definitely helped. Texas is now 12th in the conference in SOS (I believe they were 15th prior to Saturday):
1 Oklahoma
3 Mississippi State
4 Florida
5 Kentucky
7 LSU
10 Georgia
13 Vanderbilt
14 Alabama
17 South Carolina
18 Texas A&M
22 Arkansas
32 Texas
45 Auburn
46 Ole Miss
49 Missouri
53 Tennessee
What's interesting is the difference between the toughest schedule (Oklahoma) and the 10th toughest schedule among SEC teams (Texas A&M) is only 17 spot; the difference between A&M (10th) and Texas (12th) is 14 spots.
There's a pretty distinct drop-off in quality of competition.
Tennessee, for example, has the four lowest ranked conference teams on their schedule, dragging down an SOS that otherwise has both Alabama and Georgia on it.
