Right now, UGA is definitely #2 or #3 in the SEC (depending on your voting preferences) and so must be pretty sure of a spot in the 12-team finals.

But, if they lose big to the Longhorns, how FAR will the committee drop them?

Is it possible that two years in succession they can find themselves peering in at the teams battling for the title?

The committee COULD (probably would) drop them below Tennessee (who they beat), and COULD (probably not) below 'Bama (who beat them).

CAN the committee have 4 SEC teams in the 12 (or should that also imply 4 B1G teams since they've been so highly ranked?

My point is this...
Right now, UGA is a certainty.
Play one more game (against a team that is also in the playoff race) while other competition gets a bye week and you could find yourself dropped. Maybe losing ti GT would've been a better option :-(

If UGA is ranked 5th and loses in an unnecessary championship game against the #2 team and we drop past 12th then that’s the most bullshite arse shite ever to exist

Suddenly, head to head means nothing?

If UGA loses, they will drop in rankings but not out of the playoffs

I wouldn’t be shocked to see Georgia beat Texas again. Depends on becks day and how much they want it.

I’m personally extremely nervous about this. But also worrying about what happens if we lose is a loser mindset so.

The only conceivable way was if Beck, Mykel Williams, and Starks all had season ending injuries in 30+ point blowout.

I’ve actually thought about this too if UGA ends up with three losses and they’ve already lost to Alabama and Ole Miss then how can you put them in over Alabama and Ole Miss?

That's kinda where I'm coming from.
Tennessee will be a 2-loss team
'Bama, Ole Miss and UGA all 3-loss, and UGA lost to both!

Zero chance. UGA is in. Just a question of if you get a 1st round Bye or not.

It's probably going to be way easier than you can imagine.

I know I thought with 12 teams in the playoffs that there would be less controversy but it seems the playoff picture is even more convoluted. I don't see UGA being out of the playoffs if they lose to UT but heck, who knows. What would the other conferences say if the team that lost in their playoff lost? I know, it depends on their record, quality wins, beauty contests and whose campus has the best BBQ but heck, anything can happen.
