Will Tulane knock the Big 12 conference entirely out of the playoff?

Tulane is one spot in front of the likely highest rated team out of the Big 12 in the next rankings and even if they move them a spot behind AZ State their next 2 games are a 9-2 Memphis team and a possible 10-1 Army team in their conference championship game. AZ State gets a 4-7 AZ team this week.

Isn't the Big 12 guaranteed a spot and the champ a 1st round bye?

“4 Highest ranked conference champs”
Everyone assumed that meant power 4
Current format is a shite shoe.
Go to 14 teams.
SEC Champ and Big 10 champ get a bye. And the top 14 teams make it.
Strength of schedule should matter more.

Nope just the 5 highest rated conference champs. They made this change to deal with the Pac 12 two team conference situation this season.
Looking at this if Tulane does win out Colorado is definitely out whether they win the Big 12 or not unless the committee did something crazy wanting Deion in the playoff.

Yes

No, if Boise wins out, as things currently stand, they’ll get the 4th bye. Top 4 conference champs get byes, not P4 conference champs specifically. P4 conference champs do get a spot in the playoffs, though
Notre Dame is also ineligible for a bye under the current rules

They are not guaranteed a spot, just the 5 highest ranked conference champs, so if the big 10, SeC ACC MWC and AAC all have teams ranked higher, then no AQ for big 12

They did give OU a better game than Alabama did.

If ASU wins out they’re in. If CU any other B12 school wins it, I’d say Tulane has a good shot.

14-16 just based on how hard the sec is. It would make it as fair as possible. 3 loss sec would beat 1 loss acc teams imo.
