I don't think the average fan understands the effort and time marching band students put into it.

My current high school senior is the colorguard captain at Trussville. She works her arse off.
She’s going to Bama next year. Hope she does Million Dollar Band. She isn’t keen on having to do her hair like that every Saturday though lol.

I know it's hard work and many enjoy it but I'd rather do just about anything than see a large marching band.
Now a drum line competition would be fine. Especially if they held it by the beer line or the piss line.

all i know is Auburn was trying to kill all the rushing fans on the field with the lighting effects after your OT win!

If it's something she enjoys, enjoys, encourage her to do it. My oldest was in color guard for the MDB, and was in the winter guard as well. Loved every minute of it.

Unrelated but Sc's band is marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade this week. Darius Rucker called Beamer and Dawn Staley and the 3 of them fronted the cost for them to go.

Last night the LSU Alumni Band played Pregame and ‘Hey Fightin’ Tigers’ at halftime with the Golden Band From Tigerland and it was cool as shite. One of my favorite nights of every football season.

My daughter was the same at her high school 10 years ago, She tried to have me banned me from attending her winter competition's when I screamed FLY YOUR FREAK FLAG BABY as they took the floor to compete.
I love her more than life itself, but I stand by comment. Those competitions and the resulting judging decisions were INTENSE. I plan on reenacting the event for the 9th year running when she takes her seat at the dinner table on Thursday. She gets her revenge by making me try to toss the wooden rifle thing in the yard afterwards after I am 3-4 cocktails in. I broke a finger doing so a few years ago and it still bugs me in cold weather.

Don't have that. I do know of you watch an HBCU fb game, they're PROUD to air the 1/2 time shows on tv.

I knew it would be hard to top the Metallica light show from last year, but this was great. I'm a very proud AUMB alum. We are so lucky to have Dr. Spurlin.
