Cool stat.
Eli Drinkwitz has now won 35 regular season games at Mizzou. It’s the most of any head coach in MU history over their first 5 seasons. He passes Dan Devine. Gary Pinkel had 28 wins in his first 5 years.

I guess that's cool. Devine had his team within a whisker of a national championship his 3rd season, and they played 2 fewer games.

It's a great stat for negotiation but not so much for Championships.
The winningest coach to never win anything. That's so Mizzou!

Wish that stat meant more.

It’s a great stat.
He has a chance to be among our best. He’s not a great in-game coach in some respects. But he finds ways to win.
We’re 8-3. Solid season.

Drink is doing a phenomenal job, there's no arguing it. We are lucky to have him in CoMo.

Means nothing he had the most talented team in recent memory and blew it..no excuses Pinkel coaches this team they have one loss he would of beat South Carolina and he owned A&M ..let me know when Drinkwitz plays in the SEC Championship... Pinkel did it twice

If Drink could've attracted a talented QB, Mizzou wins a Natty last year, I truly believe that. We've had very dedicated, heartfelt, inspirational but mediocre QB play for 3 years. The team culture from 2023 was remarkable. Cook failed the team against LSU and UGA. My only gripe with Drink is he settled for mediocrity instead of truly trying to open the QB position to reach the next level.

Would have liked to have seen Horn when Cook was injured. Might have played well enough to challenge. But Horn took himself out with his baseball injuries.
Just another might have been.

Pinkel underachieved with rosters plenty of times.
We hired him in 2001. He didn’t win his division until 2007. Take a breath.

Lets not go down this road. Pinkel inherited a loser program. Drink inherited a .500 program with lots of success within the last decade and MUCH better facilities.

Chemistry is a weird thing there is no way to judge how much of that chemistry came at least partially through Cook. But yes any of Pinkel's QB's from Chase on (not named Mauk) would have taken the team to a higher level.

I agree. It seems we can never have all facets going at the same time.
D is good, O slips. O steps up, D falters.
It would drive me nuts to be a coach knowing every year is a crap shoot.
I did not see this years secondary being bad. Not sure anyone saw that coming.

Glad to have Drink.
Wish he had the services of any of the Pinkel QBs.
Once Drink finds one, it’s on.

Wow! Why are you being an arse? Drinkwitz is young and just started being a HC not too long ago. Give him time. He is now recruiting a lot better. I have said give him two more years when those 4* recruits are on the roster. and the transfer portal. He is going to be a lot better in the near future. I am seeing it. The quarterback right now wasn't a 4* or 5* recruit. Give him time since Mizzou isn't a powerhouse. More HS players are now giving Drinkwitz and Mizzou a chance to prove fans like you wrong.

Feel free to go down any road you choose. Pinkel underachieved with multiple rosters. Early in his career and late in his career. His “let’s frick young women” years were particularly underwhelming.
We don’t have to to romanticize his performance to try to attack Drink.

I agree GP was a very good but not great coach. But drink hasn't done anything comparable to GP at this point. I like Drink a lot but last year is an outlier at this point and Drink is very close to Odom 2.0.

Put this in a different perspective. The dark age of post-Pinkel was when Odom took over, anyone with half a brain new he got dealt arguably a worse hand than even Pinkel (post-protest, post terrible record, and the SEC grinder instead of Big 12). Now he's winning at UNLV and ranked, we all knew he could coach. I'm just sayin, if Drink started when Pinkel left and did as well as he did in his first few years, then I think you have a case.

Drink took over a bottom 1/3 of the league roster, went .500 with it while recruiting at an unprecedented level before the NIL became a thing. He rebuilt the WR room and both lines in 3 classes. Hopper, Robinson, KAD, Rakestraw, and Carlies all blossom led under the coaches he hired. Luper cranks out productive RBs.
Horn is the real fly in the ointment. SEC QB1 isn't a part time job. Cook was there leading from the front and won the job. Horn being on the roster probably cost them getting in on better arm talent in the two classes after him. I hope the kid from Pennsylvania heals properly because they need him to be the guy his sophomore year. Next year might be a mess unless they push the offense through Roberts and whoever Luper names the #2.

Make it 36 regular season games in his first 5 seasons
Drink has and is raising the standard for Mizzou Football.
