If
Texas A&M loses at Auburn
and
Ole Miss loses at Florida
and
Texas loses at Texas A&M
UGA plays Bama again in Atlanta.

Anything is possible this crazy season but Texas losing to A&M is the only one of those games that wouldn't surprise me.

I'm going to be watching all of those but I won't be heartbroken is we are resting while others play in Atlanta.

I think… think… UF can beat Ole Miss.

Our chaos needs to be non SEC teams dropping and letting us move up. UF needs to help tomorrow. OSU needs to house Indiana.

I think all 3 are plausible but I just want some of these with home playoff games to lose so we can sneak into one of them.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Auburn beat A&M, but Florida would need a lot to go right to beat OM.

I know it won't happen, but would love to see Army upset ND.

The way I see it, there are 3 outcomes.
1)Play in the SECCG, win the game, get a bye in the first round, play 3 post-season games, the same number as everybody else who missed their conference championship games, and play a tougher, more physical opponent in the SECCG than we would have in the 1st round of the playoffs. Given how screwy the seedings are, there's absolutely no assurance that we end up with an easier post-season schedule by playing and winning the SECCG.
2)Play in the SECCG, lose, don't get a bye, end up playing 4 post-season games, incur more injuries than teams that play only 3 post-season games, with less time to heal and gameplan for the playoffs.
or my preference is
3) Don't play in the SECCG. Get healthy, gameplan for likely playoff opponents. More time to rest, heal, etc
In other words, this playoff system is bullshite and making it to the SECCG actually REDUCES your chances of winning a national championship.

Missing the SECCG would be all fun and games until we ended up having to play on the road against Ole Miss again in the first round. Or at Ohio State.

I have little hope for that but, I do hope.

We could play Texas A&M too if A&M wins out and Auburn beats Alabama in the Iron Bowl
I am just not sure what I want to happen. Ideally, we win out and teams ahead of us lose so we host opening round. If we don't host, I think I would rather play in the SEC CG with a chance at a bye...only downside, coooould be a if we lost, we drop out of the playoffs as a 3 loss team. That would be nuts for the committee to do though

If we lose the SECCG we don’t make the playoffs with the amount of disrespect we get

Considering all of the issues this team has had on offense, I'm not sure we are capable of winning a NC but I do think we could win a rematch with Bama.
As such, I am hoping for the improbable and we get into the SECCG vs Alabama.
Regardless of what happens in the playoffs, beating Alabama in the SECCG would make for a highly successful season and probably Kirby's best coaching job to date all things considered: our brutal schedule, injuries, etc.

Those things are possible but winning the SECCG would be a coin flip. That leads to a much greater chance of the worst case scenario, i.e., we end up playing four games and still get a tough first round game on the road. Georgia needs time to get healthy and four games would be a very bad outcome. Like I said above, playing in the SECCG is the more difficult path to a national championship for UGA. Maybe not every year but it would be this year.

If beating Alabama is your big goal, that's fine. It's not UGA or Kirby Smart's ultimate goal.

Winning the SEC Championship in a stacked year like this would be a feat, and yes, it IS ONE of our team's goals.

Actually, I’d prefer Ole Miss & BYU to lose this weekend. I’d like A&M to beat Texas. Bye bye Texas & Ole Miss. No playoffs and we most likely host getting a few weeks to heal up.

I agree. I think they have improved more than any other team in the country as the season has gone along.
