To be fair, an 8 team SEC only playoff on campus for round of 8 and round of 4 would get ratings close to what this years CFB playoff would get.

This is what is coming. SEC will stay at 16 teams for payout reasons. There will be 4 regional pods with the winner of each region playing in a 4 team SEC playoff.
East ~ Fl, Ga, USC, UK
SE ~ Tn, Vandy, Bama, UA
SW ~ Ark, LSU, Miss, Miss St
West ~ Miz, OU, Tex, Gomer
This will bring in bigger or equal ratings to a playoff.
This year ~ UGA vs Bama / Miss vs Tex/Gomer
East ~ Fl, Ga, USC, UK
SE ~ Tn, Vandy, Bama, UA
SW ~ Ark, LSU, Miss, Miss St
West ~ Miz, OU, Tex, Gomer
