How would you feel if Brian Kelly was your coach?

I’ll obviously have to weed through majority troll posts. But I need some unbiased non-LSU fan takes.

I'll stick with Kirby, who is 3-0 vs. Kelly.

I would be exceptionally pissed off that they hired a dipshit coach who had a student killed and that would be the moment the hire was announced.
Mix in the shitty on the field results and all the cringe arse horseshite and I'd be downright apoplectic.

I would probably post idiotic, low effort troll posts to try and make me feel bett......
Ohhhh, now I get it, LSU fans.

I would go ahead and start mailing headshots to the dairy foundation in August so my picture would be ready for the milk cartons in November.

If he was the coach in Tuscaloosa I would burn my two Bama T shirts. And pull for Auburn.

Like he was getting closer to what he deserves.

I'm an LSU fan, so I guess it doesn't count, but:
I'm ok with him.
He's gone 9-3 a couple seasons now, and this year we're on track for 9-3 again (3 games left, favored in all 3).
Would I like better? Of course, we all would.
But LSU wasn't an elite program anymore when he took over. People seem to ignore or forget that.
LSU became an elite program when Saban built it up, and then Miles pushed it a bit higher and then maintained it for about a decade. Say what you want, troll if you like, but LSU was a contender annually for the national title, the baseline was a 9-3/10-2 season, and the low-water mark was 8-5.
LSU pushed Miles out because things were getting stale, and that baseline had slipped from a strong 11-2 average to maybe 9-4; we wanted something fresh to jump back to the absolute top. And of course people were angry that Miles couldn't contend with Saban anymore (newsflash, nobody could).
They hired Orgeron, which was a bad mistake. Yeah, he did ok a couple seasons, and had 2019, which might be the singular best season in program history. But he completely neglected the "program" side of it- something even Miles had maintained well.
The wheels fell off in 2020, and by the time 2021 was over, LSU was a .500 program, with no recruiting momentum, and almost all viable talent leaving via portal. We had guys like Ricks leave to go to Alabama- this wasn't a case of wanting more playing time, this was a starter and potential All American walking away. Dumpster fire.
Kelly came in and had to both build the seasonal team, AND rebuild the program, 2 different things. I think the program is coming along, we're retaining players and the recruiting classes are getting better again. Looks to be #2 class next year, with #1 QB. The seasonal teams, at 9-3 level, have people frustrated and impatient, but we don't need a quick fix (like Fla State), we need a lasting fix.
So many nervous Nellies are screaming "he said judge him on year 3!" like that's a gotcha or proof of disaster... I look at it differently. For one thing, that's coach-speak and we know all of them do that. For another, let's go and look at year 3 in depth:
Offense- lost our OC to another school, lost our Heisman QB and pair of 1st rd WRs to the draft, lost our top RB to injury and the portal.
Defense- fired the entire defensive coaching staff, lost 3 DL to the draft, lost our most promising defensive player (a preseason All American) to injury.
Sounds like a disaster, doesn't it? Yet we're 6-3, still a legit path to Atlanta, have wins over Ole Miss and SCar, 3 games left against teams we're favored to beat and we'll be 9-3 again. And as mentioned, a loaded recruiting class coming in, the first time in awhile that we have guys you're excited to see.
That doesn't sound like a disaster, it sounds like a stable and improving program. That's what we need.

Brian Kelly is not a bad coach but he is not a championship contending coach, either. He will have LSU competitive in most games but no enough to see the playoff. 8-9 win's a year with an occasional 10 win season should be good for LSU.

If the team is not getting better throughout the season, it is time to cut bait.
That's all it is really about, winning today or building for the future. If you don't have either of those, it is time to move on.
There is only one team who's fans are ecstatic after the final game. The rest experience any wide range of emotions for the next 7-8 months.
Realistically, there are only a few fan bases that have the right to feel disappointed with a final loss and that is typically relatively short lived. Bear Bryant and Saban at Alabama, Osbourne at Nebraska, and Kirby at Georgia come to mind. I am sure I missed some. Miami, USC, etc.
Just my $.02.

That's great and all, the problem is you had the exact same record WITH all of those players. Hence, the Brian Kelly patented ceiling.
