Blackout Tennessee

I like to mix up the uniforms on occasion. Be a great morale booster for fans and players so we will see.

Georgia fans probably remember the 2008 Alabama blackout and the awful game that was. Perhaps that memory lingers.

those people are absolute fricking morons.

We are 5-1 in the black jersey with multiple big time wins. We have worn them the same amount of times under Kirby that we did under Richt. We have won 3 in a row in black. We would've lost to bama that day no matter what color we wore. We've lost hundreds upon hundreds of football games wearing red and white jerseys but nobody cares about that. And if you were in the stadium that day, you'd know that the atmosphere was fricking ELECTRIC, right up until we started getting walloped.

You can be against the black jerseys for a host of reasons and I wouldn' t even argue with them, after all it really is just personal preference. But if the reasoning is "we lost a game to them 16 years ago to a team that ended up going 12-0" then...well I don't know what to say.

tbf the spike squad "calls for" a blackout like 3 times a year so this is nothing new. Kirby aint the one talking about jerseys.

How about we concentrate on fundamentals like: blocking and tackling and catching passes.

Exactly. As if wearing black means they’ll be somehow so distracted that they can’t perform. “Oh God! I’m in black! Wait. Do I block the end or the outside backer on this play? The black is messing up my brain!”

It’s such a terrible take, the fans love it, the players love it, and we literally use them for recruits.

Every fricking year…like clockwork.

The only time I ever talk about mens fashion and what other dudes are wearing is sports uniform.

That said, black jerseys and red helmets are a goofy look. It works a little better when the Falcons do it because they have a black helmet stripe, but our white helmet stripe screws it up.
