False
He's not exactly retirement age yet (Mack Brown) yet one of a very small handful of active coaches who have won it all. If Clempson ever moved on from him he'd quickly have another job if he wants it.

Agreed. He can coach damn near anywhere he wants to if Clemson was to not extend him again.

I'd have to have a clause in his contract for him to not provide any of his opinions, but I don't think he's capable of not doing that.

He’s gotta adapt to the portal

I think this is adapting to the portal, he is basically playing money ball. Clemson can’t afford transfer portal guys or elite recruits. Not using the portal is basically tenure for these recruits he can’t afford. If you can’t match the top end money you gotta try to make it up somewhere else.

They could when they had the mega church propping up their program...
Mega chruch buying recruit + Elite D coordinator + 2 "generational" QB's + a little signal stealing thrown in for good measure = 2 Natty's for Clemson.
None of those things except #1 don't exist in clemson any more.

Blind bidding, the value of a football player was set by each school, Clemson probably valued football players worth more than usc Miami Michigan or Texas but in todays world the recruit tells big money programs what schools like Clemson value and they exceed that or at least match Clemsons offer. They can’t afford that.

he will never coach in the SEC or anywhere else in the ACC - he'll retire and end up in front of a TV camera - hopefully on the ACCN where nobody will be able to see or hear him -
I fear he'll end up on ESPN studio sets -
I could see him at UCF or USF for the right money -

He coaches in the ACC...what appears to even be behind the BIG 12 in football success this season - secures as a low tier super conference.
Dabo can certainly continue to succeed in such a shitty conference.

Difference is they didn't have competition buying players because it was illegal after it became legal their farm crops couldn't outspend anyone.

Dabo could lose out and would still be Auburns next head coach just because he has beaten Bama before. Facts.

And this still wouldn't have been enough for them to ever win a National Title in the SEC.

I could see him retiring early. But he obviously knows how to build a program.

He is Hugh Freeze without the NCAA colonoscopy. Clemson will win games because the ACC is terrible but Dabo isn't outcoaching a team with more talent and would fail at a smaller program.

He's exactly the kind of guy that Arkansas would hire thinking they made a splash.
