Carson Beck is as much a problem as the solution.

Beck has almost always comeback in a game but his playing has been the primary reason we HAD to comeback.

He looked scared yesterday in the eyes. That is very concerning.

He needs an underneath drag route on every passing play to put a safer option right in his field of vision. He is simply not seeing the field and panicking

Yep, Beck is not a running QB so Bobo needs to design in an outlet on every passing down. Etienne going out of the game sure didn't help the situation.

Agreed! Can’t make those “pressing” throws, can’t do it! Stetson would be under the bench if he did that in one game let alone three games!
That being said, Carson has a great “next play” mentality, he played much better in the second half and shook off the picks. Just got to find out what/why he’s doing that, and take the check down, throw it away, or scramble for a few yards and punt.

He isnall we got for this year so everyone should just get behind him and lift him up.

College football is bizarre across the board this year. Game is changing alot on Offense all offenses look bad.

He's got heart and resilience, I'll give him that. He fought back and ended up with 309 yds and 2 TDs and you could argue that one of those INTs wasn't really his fault, he was hit as he was throwing. Lest we forget, he's 3rd in the SEC in yards and TDs behind Dart and Pussmeier. He's not a bad QB, but the ints are eventually going to lose us a game if he can't figure that out, with some more formidable teams still on the schedule.

Its not helping that we are having to play true freshmen at RB. But I'll say that Frazier looks like our next star back and it was good to see little Phillips get in the game. I've heard rumors that he is already one of the fastest players on the team. He just needs to put some meat on his bones.

That's my take...FWIW.

The comeback heroics came after UF lost 3 starters on defense.

After yesterday, Beck is now 24th in total QBR for the year.

If we are relying on Bobo for creativity and adjustments, we will all be disappointed. That said, our D is good enough to win games for us and they’re getting better every week.

11 int in 5 games is not the Georgia standard.

Anyone else think Beck is sandbagging for his draft spot? These picks make it look like that or he’s betting or being used for betting on the games. They are that bad, like no Georgia receivers even in the area bad. Not a bad way to end up on a decent team and bid your time for your second contract.

Really hard to put an explanation on such a “good” “accurate” qb making those passes. Especially after last year.

My best guess is what we’re seeing is the result of Beck trying to force the ball downfield rather than taking the open check down that he was so good at last year. IIRC the main criticism of 2023 Beck was that he was too conservative - which worked really well with a run first ball control offense.

This coupled with being out of synch with his receivers has led to a lot of these picks. We know he has the talent and intelligence … so either something’s affecting him (ie pressure for his NFL audition year) or we’re pressing him to do something he’s not comfortable doing.

I’d also like to see him run a little more. Yesterday there were a couple of times where all of the LBs were in coverage and he had 20 yds of grass in front of him.

Run some more.

Throw the damn ball away (outside the pocket not up the middle).

The threat of Stet scrambling made a huge difference.

Beck needs at least 2 designed runs a game to keep them honest.

21-2 as a starter. He’s lost one regular season game. For one of the few times in my 45 years of following UGA football we’ve got a pass first offense and I don’t think our fan base can even remotely comprehend doing offense in that way. Our running back room is depleted. Add the fact that we’ve had unprecedented success under Kirby, and you get a million negative posts about a QB that’s providing over 70% of our offense. Folks we are 7-1, ranked 2nd in the nation with this “problem”! Be Happy… get behind Carson because I don’t believe any poster on this board knows better than Kirby Smart what’s best for the program.

The interesting thing is we beat UF by 14 and had the ball at the end and the take away is a manic, emotional response that our QB threw 3 picks and the situation is hopeless. It is a bizarre take in context, but bitches by nature have to be bitches. It’s who they are.

I said in another response that I’m not sure these folks forgot the Spurrier/ Urban years or maybe weren’t around but we’re winning the types of games we almost 100% lost in those days?

It seems like a pretty reasonable take imo. Is it hopeless? No. But it's clearly a pattern & clearly a lot more hopeless the 3rd time it's happened than it was the 1st time.

Some people are frustrated that potential blowouts have been turning into close, hard-fought games thanks to Beck's 11 interceptions. And I'd say nobody is more frustrated than the 2nd stringers who aren't getting playing time because we haven't put the game away. Would be really nice to rest up the 1st string during this long, difficult season

You are mad because we played close games against SEC teams including the #1 team at the time and our biggest rival… and won them all, but didn’t blow them out… and I am the irrational one?
