This season was destined to have bumps in the road. I think Bama will look good in BR and finish strong. If not, I still think Bama is in good hands. Cant wait to see what DaBear does with his players

And I keep hearing the "but Deboer inherited a goldmine" line despite him inheriting a team that came dangerously close to losing three games against dog shite teams with losing records last year...

Minus the best players from that team. I think there were a lot more misses than hits in these past few years, especially at LB, DL, and RB.

Teams like PSU, Indiana, Miami among others out here playing 0-1 ranked teams

Meanwhile Bama has played 3-5 ranked teams (if Vandy and USC are ranked tmnr) already and still has LSU to go

Vandy will be ranked. USC would absolutely be ranked if they had not been screwed against LSU. DeBoer also dealing with locker room issues that probably drove Saban to retirement. Overall, dude has done a good job

Good job would be 8-0.

Alabama was completely unprepared for Vanderbilt and the staff was out coached.

The staff had Milroe throw the ball 45 times against Tennessee.

Alabama has all but abandoned the RB run game in all but a few games. Had Alabama focused more on running the ball, they would be 8-0.

DeBoer has done a very poor job this year.

I do too, but still have no faith in Milroe to go on the road & win a game like this. I really hope he proves me wrong.

While true, we got them early, and NO ONE was prepared for that Vandy.

You are a dumbass and sunshine pumper, friend. You must have thought Dubose and Shula did a good job too.

Take those crimson glasses off and see the train wreck that is Alabama football this year.

Alabama is two plays from 4-4.

Alabama is also a couple plays from 8-0. Alabama football isn’t a “train wreck”.

We have played Zero teams with a losing record this season. That’s impressive

Vandy was already ranked at #25 once this year.

I was actually around for Dubose and Shula and have seen what a poor job actually looks like. I am not an entitled, trust fund fan.

Georgia State (2-6) seemed to be pretty well prepared.

Vandy hasn’t exceeded 300 yards of offense in 4 of the 5 SEC games they’ve played thus far. They put 418 on Bama.

They got less than 350 against Alcorn State in week 2.

They put 418 on Bama.

They got 232 against Auburn yesterday.

They put 418 on Bama.

Defensively everyone BUT Bama has been pretty well prepared for Vandy and contained them without a lot of difficulty regardless of where they fell on the schedule. If Bama’s had simply been as prepared and performed to the average of Vandy’s other opponents it would have been a comfortable win.

ETA: upthread one poster says Bama is a couple of plays from 8-0 while another says they’re a couple of plays from 4-4. Those statements aren’t mutually exclusive. This team isn’t a train wreck (that’s Auburn) but that amazing Saban consistency isn’t walking through the door either. Bama is mortal again. Still a top caliber program, but mortal. Gotta learn to live with that fact.

Collectively, from everyone on this site, STFU and go back to your team’s website. You aren’t welcome here.

WR outside of Bond was completely portal dependent basically since Waddle. I can’t tell why we can’t get more production out of Law, he’s a great blocker and extremely explosive.

OL outside of 4-5 guys has been rough relative to their recruiting rankings since 2020 as well. Not sure if it was bad evals, changing scheme or poor development but I’m not sure how much better Tyler Booker is than he was when he got here honestly. Proctor is really good but still 30 pounds overweight and I won’t judge Roberts or Pritchett because I think they’re hurt, but Roberts isn’t as effective as last year.

I suspect the some of our top guys doing our evals on offense left with Locksley and the rest went with Sark in 2020.

Couple of factors to consider. Nobody knew Vandy was that good until we played them. We caught them right after a huge game with Georgia. Everyone else was on notice how dangerous Vandy was after they beat us (and they still nearly beat Texas). The game was in Jordan Hare with Auburn highly motivated for the game, their hopes to be bowl eligible were on thin ice. And Auburn played Pavia and this offense last year.
