Longtime OL Coach Jim Turner Totally Debunks The Targeting Call

Don't say it doesn't matter because the Aggies scored anyway. Aggies have a starting WR disqualified for the first half of a major game at USCe this Saturday.

Sankey is responsible for he officiating in this league and the refs have been terrible all season. Just consider the debacle in Austin.

Yall are like us. Until you win it all, this stuff will always happen. Even then, it’ll happen to yall and us more than the favored schools.

He might be a loud Yankee, but it doesn't make him right.

Maybe he shouldn't be laying blindside blocks and targeting defenseless players.

So, you don't know the rule and you found a random guy who agrees with you.

In most games, I'd say a defender can't be defenseless in the direction of the play on a run, but I think we can clearly make an exception for most of LSU's defense last Saturday. They were clearly defenseless and certainly didn't know what they were looking at.

Turner seemed to have more of a problem with the rule than the call itself.

Anyone who says it was a bad call is being willfully ignorant at this point.

It was a clear blindside block with contact to the head and neck area which equals targeting.

It checked all of the boxes.

No, he didn't.

#3 is watching the back the entire time and seems to catch movement in his peripheral vision. As he turns toward #9, the hit occurs.

Of course, many dishonest Aggies have clipped this and only show the hit from the time #3 turns, then they claim it was a head on block.

Sidewalker’s Internet journalism far outweighs that knowledge of a football coach. How dare you.

There’s nothing violent about this hit.

The safety just got knocked on his arse. He got beat.

Good execution by A&M offense.

Turner never says it's a bad call, he just says he doesn't like it and complains about the rule and doesn't know what else the guy is supposed to do.

All fair points, but still a good call per the rule.

Every side is a Blindside for that safety…

So Walker chose to block from the front, which is safest choice…

I don't give a shite if it's right or wrong, it's an example of why it's a shitty rule.
