I liked Les Miles. He was cooky and won games.

Agreed. And had a super physical football team that wore you down. BK on the other hand is clearly sunsetting with another Scott Woodward contract special.

I thought Zack Mettenberger was gonna get them over that Bama hump.

Les Miles' record stacks up favorably with pretty much every coach over the past 20 years of the SEC, other than Saban and Smart.

Les Miles was a national treasure. Very likeable guy.
Ed O. too (except he just mailed it in immediately after that 'ship)
BK not so much.

In a lot of ways, Miles and Coach O proved that LSU sells itself and championships should be the expectation. However, it seems like BK is slowly changing LSU fan expectations.

I think BK thought he would inherit talent and run things like a Big 10 game. He has not learned anything in the SEC. Only how to make excuses. He just doesn't have the ability to win big games and never will.

He decided to lay down and hump the ground instead.

There won't be an LSU response in this thread because they know it's true.

look, you guys won twice against him now, but this isn't about him vs Tx a&m. your roster right now, if we had that, and you had ours, i think the results would have been much different. you looked pretty inept until you pulled that rabbit out of your hat with the backup. and kudos for the change made.
year 1 he won the west while starting off with a 39 man roster, had to attack the portal guys who came in and contributed....and then were gone, and starting over in the rebuild again from simply a numbers perspective, not to mention just getting bodies that weren't quite LSU standards.
he's essentially still building for a lack of talent, but more specifically, lack of talent and depth. his recruiting class last year is contributing. those guys next year will be seasoned on the DL, and he's bringing in other big uglies now.
knock his game time decisions, losing opening games, always starting slow, talking funny, lack of running game (qb never pulling it is killing what little attack we have) etc all you want, but he's done a pretty damn good job at getting to 10 wins with a much inferior roster than what LSU is accustomed to. he's avoiding the portal as much as possible to bring in guys they develop and build. i have faith he'll get it done.

How can you possibly use this as an excuse in Year 3 with the transfer portal? Word is out that BK drops f bombs the entire game and passes blame to everyone but himself.

That's been well known at this point for almost two decades. He is what he's always been.

Very few elite defensive backs and elite defensive tackles are in the portal.
Players are either in the portal because they had problems at their last stop, are looking for a big check, or they're stepping up in competition.
LSU took two 4 star corners from Ohio State and we have 3 star true and redshirt freshmen outplaying them.

i guess since you're rolling all over the place laughing, you missed where i said he's avoiding the portal for the most part and building through recruiting. he has said as much this offseason, if your #1 priority is to get paid, LSU is not the place for you. development, teamwork, a shot at the NFL and being paid along the way is his way.
and this is his 3rd season coaching, basically 2 years in with 10 wins and 7 games into year 3......and this is his 3rd recruiting class he's about to wrap up and it appears to be pretty high. i like where we're at moving forward. good luck at USCe this weekend.

Well if beating Aggy during that period is the benchmark, everyone in the conference fared well against you guys and Tenner-C.
Les would not win in todays environment plus he would have run the children’s cancer center out of money with a NIL pool of money.
