Our interior OL has not lived up to the preseason hype and the right tackle is a liability but not to the degree his backup has proven to be. We just can't move bodies consistently so our run game is heavily predicated on pin-and-pull, counters, misdirection, etc. I love those runs but I don't think they can ever really pop off like they can given we don't do inside or outside zone runs well. I always loved that Shanahan run offense where they get you flowing to the play side of the outside zone then hit you with some sort of counter action to punish the front for pursuing the edge. Given that our OL clearly are no earth movers, it would seem like the outside zone + counter combo would be the thing to do because neither really require a ton of strength to run effectively.

That was a zone blocking scheme and those Broncos OLs were always among the lightest in the NFL. It seems that DeBoer prefers the smaller, more nimble type OLs, so we shall see if it gets better in the long run. This lack of running is certainly a source of frustration for many of us.
