he number one player in the 2025 recruiting class is quarterback Bryce Underwood, and he is right in the backyard of the Michigan football team. Underwood currently attends Belleville High School, about 30 minutes away from the University of Michigan campus. Underwood was a major target for the Wolverines in the 2025 class, but he committed to LSU back in January. Now, Michigan is trying to make one last push to land him.
“Michigan interest in five-star LSU QB commit Bryce Underwood is ‘real’ and ‘is going to be interesting,'” A source reportedly told Rivals.
Combine this with Dave Portnoy offering up big bucks and the kid may want to go to a school a half hour from his house.

Dave Portnoy chimed in regarding his NIL pledge to Michigan football following the Wolverines’ 21-7 loss against Illinois on Saturday. The Barstool Sports founder said in September that he would contribute $3 million to the program to help it secure a top quarterback every season.

Of course Michigan is interested in him, he's the top player in the country. But he has been clear he has no interest in Michigan.

You can’t blame Michigan for trying, but all signs point to him sticking with LSU.

Follow the visits. How often has he visited Michigan?

Follow the money. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy took the internet to storm when he declared that he was ready to pay $3 Million to buy Michigan a “Top Ten” Quarterback. But as Chat Sports’ James Yoder, in his podcast, said, ”They are not saying $1 million now, they are saying $4 million.”

He has a big NIL opportunity at LSU, and our offense has been putting out heisman QBs. Michigan's offense doesn't interest Bryce in the least. He has already laughed off this "push" and "interest" in Michigan. It's not happening. They have a joke for an offense and it's not interesting to any top QB. No 5 star QB wants to go to a place that throws for 120 yards a game.

I would be a lot more worried if Michigan didn't look so pathetic without Harbough.

I don’t believe he has visited anywhere other than LSU since he committed in January.

I genuinely believe Michigan was like his 3rd or 4th school
Think he took more visits to Penn State then Michigan

He visited Michigan 11 times, but none after committed to LSU. He visited both MSU and Ohio State 3 times.

Four-star athlete Elijah Dotson (Belleville, MI) committed to Pittsburgh in May, but he will be with Michigan this weekend as well. Dotson mostly gets recognized for his play at defensive back, but he’s also one of the best high school wide receivers in the Mitten. Dotson’s quarterback is No. 1 recruit Bryce Underwood.

Yeah I bet Underwood ditches LSU to average 150 passing yards per game with his favorite high school team mate

Nope! It just tells you that Sherrone has spearheaded a serious push for Bryce Underwood. As now offensive side of recruit this year Michigan is similar to LSU. Michigan also just got 5-star OT Andrew Babalola and is pushing for more offense talents. Michigan has significant support for NIL moves like this moving forward. Some Michigan recruiting circles report that Bryce is legitimately “torn” on what to do next.
