No this isn’t a troll post.

No one will probably ever replicate Saban’s dominance in our lifetime again so having an expectation of that is just unrealistic and I think Bama fans have probably realized that by now.

To me, it seems the entire team has regressed. Do they need better coordinators? Is DeBoer a little over his head with trying to handle expectations?

The SEC is just a different beast and a lot of coaches just can’t handle the everyday grind it takes to be consistently successful.

Nothing, it's his first year.

We are probably looking at an average LSU season, 3 to 4 losses.

Nothing for two years. At the end of the day, SOMEONE had to burn at the stake. Might as well be him.

He'll get a pass this year regardless of how out of control the team is under his leadership.

If he pulls the same shart next year (and I'm predicting 4 losses this year), he'll be canned after next year.

He's just not very good.

Deboer gets a pass his first year and to get rid of Milroe. By the 3rd year he'll either be solidifying himself in the position or they'll be talking about replacements.

Be stuck with him for years and watch the decline get worse.

I highly doubt Bama will get rid of DeBoer after 2 or 3 years. His buyout is $69 million after 2 years and 60 million after 3 years. Does Bama have that kinda $$?

One we won't fire him that quickly anyways. Second unlike other schools at haven't paid out near the level of coaching salaries since we never had to buy out a bunch of coaches

The same thing LSU does with their coaches that lose 2 to three games. They name the local burger after them and let them sleep with their sister. He’s staying for a bit

I agree with this. I also agree that no one is going to live up to the standard imparted by Saban.

And you don’t even have to put Saban on any sort of pedestal to understand this — it is a very different era of football. 12 team playoff & transfer portal is a much tougher row to hoe for everybody.

I want Coach DeBoer to have a few one and two loss regular seasons. It will be hard to fire him that way. It was bad for everyone but Georgia that they got Kirby. We don’t want Alabama to go find the next best thing to Kirby (whoever that is).

We’ll have a few seasons like this, but Deboer will have some championship type teams at Bama. I know everyone is having a big circle jerk around the conference right now because Bama looks average, but guess what, yall are average too. This guy didn’t just suddenly forget how to coach, and Bama hasn’t stopped recruiting.

He will get 2-3 years to live up to Saban. He won't and he'll get fired. There's almost no other path when following the goat.

His fault for taking a job following the goat. Impossible situation.

Kind of bad considering you have drastically more talent than those LSU teams.

Just like Napier but he will get Florida to beat LSU this season. Every coach now should get 3 years to get it done.
