Here's another thing to point out that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere. Many are speculating that during the whole trash fiasco, the refs were wathcing the video board and saw the replay and at that point decided they messed up and then decided to waive off the flag.
Around the 1 minut emark of the linked clip there's contact; whether it warratned a flag idk but you can at least see that there was contact between the 2 players. However, in the stadium the board operator used some selective editing to exclude that. What set the crowd into a frenzy to begin with (and start the bottle throwing) was them showing the play on the big board AFTER the contact; so basically what teh stadium saw was simply 2 guys, not touching, standing next to each other with the DB catching a ball thrown right to him. From that perspective sure it looks awful btu that didn't paint the whole picture.
I know many people have talked about how it's a bad precedent that if you don' like a call just throwr shite and mayeb it'll change...but what I haven't seen mentioned yet is how now your fricking video board operator can creatively select what angles or what moments to show that reinforce the view of the home crowd. Which is also scary.

As a neutral viewer what a spectacular frick up. Make a bad call. Decide to correct it in the most absurd way.

I wasn't able to see it live. That's amazing. Honestly can't remember anything like that happening since Auburn/LSU 2006. So they make a call, Texas fans throw trash on the field, they stop play to clean it up for 5 minutes, then come back and say, actually never mind that wasn't a penalty
In fairness, it was a bad call, but what a joke to cave to the mob.

Honestly the reversal wasn't the worst of it. It was what followed that made me think the Refs were in the bag.
1) 2 players ejected for making form tackles
2) Etienne being marked short on an obvious first down.
3) Etienne being marked short on obvious touchdown
4) Following that play the ref spotted the ball on the qb sneak almost before
the play was over and there was no review. I'm pretty sure Beck crossed
the goal line. Regardless one would think the booth would have at least
looked at it. THAT didn't happen.
It was so obvious the refs were trying to throw this game it was almost comical. 58 years old and it's the first time I've really thought the refs were bought.

Maybe Vegas needs to price in a little more than 3 points for home field advantage

If this would have changed the outcome of the game, there would have been a lot bigger response.
This was dogshit.

So infuriating. After years of complaining that our students don't show well for games they finally do and act like Arkansas fans. I guess I should be happy it wasn't batteries or piss like hog fans but it still pisses me off.
Every one of them needs a lifetime ban from the stadium. Glad the SEC fined us we deserve it.

I was just going to mention that. Should in stadium video be cut for any penalty, until next snap? The play can’t be reviewed yet its almost a certainty the refs watched the video and it influenced their reversal.

I have seen several say the play wasn't PI, but the Texas player blocked the Georgia player while already facing the QB. Once he stopped and redirected the UGA player, it was easy for him to see the ball and the rest is history.
If it wasn't PI, then nothing is PI short of tackling the receiver.

You are spot on. The TV never showed the field angle where the Texas DB grabbed the UGA receiver's jersey as he came out of the route. Disgusting all around.

Will they start putting air-tags on bottles and require you to use phone to register bottle using an app at purchase?

I don't wanna say they were trying to throw the game, but I do get the feeling they wanted to keep it competitive. A blowout in a matchup like that wasn't good for business

it was a bad call,
Was it really? Take another look at it and see how the defender redirected the receiver.
Enough with the "it was a bad call". Don't give any ground to the bad officiating. They fricked up and made it worse. Then those phantom targeting calls.
WTH? Were they afraid of the fans? I think so.

You just know that this is a badge of honor at the Delt house this morning in chapter meeting.
"Bro, we literally did our part to change the game, that's so sick-- like how sigma are we? 12th man fr fr"
