What's the problem here? I know he had the one touchdown on a rare positive play for our offensive line. But other than that he has flat out sucked recently. Any touch for him these last few weeks is a wasted play. On the drive where Alabama actually ran consistently, Miller checked out and everything ground to a halt. Worse, Haynes had a play that set up beautifully for him and he allowed an arm tackle to trip him up after about four yards. He's a five star recruit but he's running with so much trepidation.

We should have used Miller almost exclusively in the 2nd half but inexplicably he was not used much. Did he get injured?

He did have a play where he was slow to get up and checked out. Did not get an injury update.

We haven't had good running back play since Gillespie got the job in 2021

Who underperformed at Alabama.

Not to mention he came from the transfer portal. Not a guy we recruited or developed.

He signaled to come out in the 2H and never returned.

There were some big hits being delivered yesterday. Bama is going to be very banged up going into Missouri.

Sabb
Jackson was dinged last week
Roberts
Pritchett
Miller
Williams took some huge hits
Adams
Law
Prentice

I’m probably missing some.

Nothing about Haynes says five star athlete to me. I don’t know how he got that rating.

Maybe he’s got good top end speed, but slim chance you ever see that from a guy that jukes 5 times before hitting a hole and goes down if a defender breathes on him.

I said it weeks ago, the more of Haynes I see the less impressed I am.

The whole offense is limited and shite because of Milroe. Don't blame Haynes.

A RB dancing around instead of running straight ahead or not lowering their shoulder to get a much needed yard or two for a first down isn't on Milroe.

Hey maybe if he could break a tackle and not fall at the first sign of possible contact we wouldn't have to throw 45 times?

The minute Jamo got injured our rush attack died.

That RB screen... if it were Jamo he shakes that ONE cb and gets the first down even if Ryan doesn't block

Everything is out of sync and broken because it is adjusted for Milroe. Everyone gets a pass from me until Milroe is out of the way.

Both true…he’s been way too tentative at hitting the hole in the last three games, and goes down way too easy. Hardly any yards after contact. It’s hurt us in crucial 3rd downs.

That is a fixation. While Milroe didn't have a good game, every player should be held to a standard.

Bingo

This team has so many problems, it's hard to know where to even start.

Our DB coach should require all his DB's to practice with boxing gloves on so they can't put their hands on the receivers thus learn to defend without damn pass interference calls every Saturday.

I think everyone is super sensitive to other areas of the team because we need them to bail us out. Tennessee is not garbage, their guys have scholarships, too.

Exactly

The people who hate Milroe want to make it all him. He was bad, we need to open things up and give Ty a shot...

However....

Our DBs literally can't cover GO routes.
Our LBs (especially #11) don't shed blocks, don't get up field to make tackles
Our DL gets caught up in mush rush
Our safeties get lost covering or get lazy pursuing

That's just defense....

That's not even talking about our horrible 3rd/4th down playcaller...

That's not even talking about...

Our porous OL
Our ONE RB, the other plays like he's in the portal
Our non-blocking WRs

Then we get to our QB who crumbles when he hears loud crowds and sees DL pressure.

That's not talking about the undisciplined lack of focus where we make so many mistakes due to mental errors.

Head coach has to lead this team and he hasn't done that either
Our block whiffing TEs

No he wasn't. He had a few home runs, mostly catching passes. He never emerged as a reliable back.

He still had about 1350 scrimmage yards in about 11 games. He wasn’t as good as some of the other backs we had under Saban but he was still a hell of a lot better than the other RBs we had post 2021

And given that he was pretty good on a bad GT team before us and has been pretty good in the NFL, I’d say he was underutilized here if anything
