I’m honestly just shocked how many posters can’t read. I knew the SEC wasn’t known for academics, I just didn’t think it was this bad.

I’m not arguing how it transpired. I’m arguing the idiots that keep saying “it’s not reversible” when all you have to do is read the SECs statement and it explains what happened.

Every call is reversible before the next play is snapped. Not all are reviewable, including PI.

But the statement is made up. You can keep pretending it’s not. We all know it is.

Are you really unsophisticated or are you trolling?

You guys keep saying the call is unreversible.

It’s reversible

Everybody knows that refs pick up flags after these little ref conferences all the time. Even on non reviewable plays.

Obviously this circumstance indicates that there needs to be a more specific procedure on when and how these little ref conferences can be held in terms of calls being overturned.

I would suggest that once the ref steps off the penalty and places the ball... the call stands... no matter how egregious the call might have been.

Refs have to be in agreement before then.

They convened and corrected the call. No matter what transpired in between the initial call and the changed call, that's what happened. The call by the rule is not "irreversible".

JFC I'm starting to think you people would forget to breathe if someone didn't remind you.

It was Non reviewable. They only changed it after reviewing it on the big screen. What happened led to that, so it is relevant

Here is the rule:

1. a. A penalty is completed when it is accepted, declined or canceled according to rule, or when the choice is obvious to the referee.

c. When a foul is committed, the penalty shall be completed before the ball is declared ready for play for any ensuing down.

Its the OR that is interesting here.

The refs didn't cancel the call. UGA accepted the call.
