Did not read all the responses but I get the impression this "huddle" by the refs was done immediately per the statement issued.

It was not.

You guys keep saying the call is unreversible.

It’s reversible

quote:

Pass interference is not reviewable, so the only way to change the call is for the officials to convene and make the decision on their own.

They didn’t convene to correct the call? Could’ve fooled me.

They enforced the penalty, moved the chains, and signaled ready to play. Georgia was lined up already. Then the game was delayed, and only then did the penalty get reversed.

That’s all fine and dandy, but they did exactly what they’re allowed to do. They convened and ended up making the correct call.

That was a very strange turn of events. It was an embarassingly bad call considering the DB was facing the QB and had a right to defend his position and go for the ball. If anything, it should have been a pushoff/ offensive PI on the receiver.. It was equally terrible of the fans to throw stuff on the field. The boos were enough to get the point across.

I've seen way worse officiating in the Big 12 through the years though so not a shocker that a college crew makes a mistake, at least they corrected it..

Texas deserved to lose that game, they played like crap for 3 quarters of the game, and it wasn't because of the refs that they lost or Georgia won..Texas just got outplayed and outcoached.

When all is said and done, though, they got the call corrected.

I expect fans to be armed with water bottles for every texas game the rest of the year for each call they disagree with. After all, there is no punishment for it and it works for reversing calls.

A bad precedent was set by a trashy fanbase that no one likes so get ready for the results.

That might financially break Arkansas. I would advise against it.

It was reminiscent of the Horns time in the B12 where they were handed wins.

Handed wins? LOL! Have you seen Texas record the 12 or 13 years before Sark? The fricking Refs in the Big 12 hated Texas. They literally handed Oklahoma State a win over them like you are saying with bad calls because of a gambling bet and laughed about it...I watched a ref argue with Texas head coach then intentionally bump into the coach and pull out a flag and throw it and kick the coach out of the game. That's the kind of crap that happened to Texas in the Big 12. They've played in many games where they have allowed the other teams Oline to hold the entire game and never flag them, but flag Texas over and over for it..

Not saying it's an excuse for fans to throw water bottles on the field after a bad call, but Texas fans have PTSD from bad refs for over a decade.

Tell me about all the bad calls/ no calls you've seen go Texas way then when they were in the Big 12? I'm talking about calls that were significant or a game where the refs showed favoritism a whole game and won a game for them, let's narrow it down to that...Not rumors or a bunch of A&M and Nebraska fans pouting because Texas kicked the crap out of them regularly...

You need to go rewatch the kickoff return. The holding was on a player in position to make the tackle in the middle of the field. It appears you are not looking at the correct hold on that play.

the cheating of the refs made this arse whoopin even more glorious for the dawgs! I don’t mind reversing a bad call but how it was handled was shite . The only reason it was reversed was the woke student section wanted the participation
trophy and threw a temper tantrum.

Sure, they can convene before announcing the penalty. Not after the chains had moved, Georgia was at the line ready to snap the ball, and your trash arse students started throwing garbage on the field.

Now, they’ve rewarded Texas fans for acting like petulant children and putting people on the field in danger.

Oh, and I think Jalon Walker just striped sacked Ewers again.

The initial call was wrong, no one is arguing that, but to go back and reverse it after the other team was fixing to run a play because a trashy fanbase threw bottles on the field is unheard of. I’ve never seen this happen before and it sets the table for future problems in the conference which is, like texas, unwanted.

But thankfully Georgia bowed up and took care of business against this garbage. Thank you.
