Could be a big win, a big hire, a conference change, a large donation or sponsorship, etc.

College Baseball national championship in 2011. Was special because it meant back to back national championships for SC since they won in 2010 as well.

For me it will always be the 1993 Sugar Bowl beat down of Miami.

Texas has played in Two "Game of the Centuries" aka 1 vs 2

1969 Texas vs. Arkansas
2005 Texas vs. USC

I wasn't alive for the 1st, but the 2nd was pretty great.

The worst is debatable, but the 1991 Cotton Bowl has to be pretty high on the list.. #3 Texas vs #4 Miami

That game was ugly.. 46-3 Canes

That game was also the coldest game I've ever attended.. and of course, it felt so much colder since we were getting absolutely destroyed.

Tough because there have been so many, but...

January 3, 2007.

Followed closely by:

December 3, 1957

January 1, 1926

The worst part of that game was you could immediately see how it was going to go with t he opening kickoff where they almost killed Samuels. I knew at that moment it was going to be a long day. Horns were completely intimidated.

Captain Robert R. Neyland was hired as the head football coach at the University of Tennessee on September 20, 1926.

He was promoted to Major in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers six days before his first game

State football would be a choice of:
A-the 1980 6-3 victory over undefeated, two time defending national champion, and number 1 ranked Bama coached by the Bear who were riding a 28 game winning streak

B- the 38-23 victory over Auburn on CBS that led to the program's first ever number 1 ranking

Auburn's win over Oregon for the title. The Kick 6 was the greatest play in Auburn history, but in the end Auburn squandered the opportunity.

To this day, I have never seen us whipped that bad. From start to finish, as you said, and I would even argue the intimidation started before the kickoff. The energy in the air was oh shite.. what have we just walked into..

They were fast. They were freaks. They were angry. They were cocky.. and there wasn't anything we could do about it.. Complete domination in every facet of the game.

Gotcha.

I actually remember that not-really-down play from that game.

If you weren't alive for the first one...

You probably don't realize that we had three "games of the century" in a six year period...

Notre Dame vs. Michigan State- 1966
Texas vs. Arkansas -1969
Nebraska vs. Oklahoma- 1971

And believe it or not... right after Oklahoma and Nebraska played... The tried to hype up the Orange Bowl match up between Nebraska and Alabama as another "game of the century".... but Nebraska destroyed them so it didn't get that distinction.
