I remember Johnny Carson interviewing Fran Tarkenton and his first question was don't you have to be highly intelligent to play quarterback in the NFL and Fran responded "no." Johnny then said well you have to be intelligent and Fran's response was "not really." Then he said you got to be above average and Fran said "above average intelligence is not necessary." Playing football is not that complicated. Football smart is needed which comes from playing.
