I'm just glad we got someone and didn't end up with an exception that everyone would point to as having a shitty schedule.

Pretty cool pickup. This will be the first ever matchup with them.

I like it

Playing someone different and it’s good for Wazzu fans as they can come down south and see somewhere different

Perfect opponent for the team and the fans. Beautiful part of the country, Pac12 opponent, and not to tough. The only thing i worry about is the long travel and time change.

It’s great for the predicament that USC and wake left us in for next season

We host them, it isn't a home and home

Correct. But we now have two openings in 2026. I assume one of those will be taken by a 9th conference game. That leaves a spot open that I guess we could use to go out there if we wanted to.

The only problem is that someone had a brain anurysm and scheduled us to go to Charlotte NC to play the Charlotte Forty Niners on the road in 2026.

So I doubt we want to play two OOC games on the road in the same year.

ETA: on astroturf, in a stadium that holds 15,000.

So the next opening we have where we don't already have an OOC road game scheduled is 2031.

Eh, Charlotte is a great city. Remember Bama played at USF last season. It’s a good area for travel

Let me edit my post:

They're the Forty Niners. Not the Rams. Their helmets just look like Rams.

They started football in 2009 or something like that.

They play on Astroturf.

Their stadium holds 15,000

You sure we aren't playing in the Panthers stadium? That is right down town but always has astroturf.

Hot off its first bowl bid, Charlotte has announced a home-and-home series with Ole Miss during the 2026 and 2027 football seasons. Ole Miss will travel to Charlotte's Jerry Richardson Stadium, Sept. 12, 2026 and the 49ers will head to Oxford, Miss. for a road contest, Sept. 4, 2027 at Vaught Hemingway Stadium. Game dates are subject to change.

Also, they're the 49ers....not the Rams.

No I'm not sure at all. But it seems like it would be an expensive venue to rent out, and wouldn't be a good return for them.

I attended the Wake Forest game last month. 31,000 seat stadium. Ole Miss brought maybe 8,000. Wake had probably 12,000 there. Maybe 15,000.

I can't imagine UNC Charlotte will have even that many. It will be a sell out, just because Charlotte is easy to fly and drive to. But I can see any reason to play in a 76,000 seat stadium.

There were empty seats. But maybe that's because there were people in the grassy end zone bowl. But it wasn't full to my eye.

Maybe they brought 15k and we brought 10k? That's about it.

Playing in a 15k stadium is ridiculous. Playing a home and home with an outfit like UNC charlotte is absurd

We are playing in their normal stadium. That’s wild.

But I’m down to go. Wanna meet up and Eiffel tower a bama grad again?
