Was it bad? Aside from the game, I saw comments from both Sooners and UT saying the field wasn’t up to par? What happened?
I’m picturing the sod giving out and a bunch of slips.

They refuse to enlist the help of Okie State. They produce world class sod varieties.

The field guy left to run grounds at a golf course in late spring. He was top notch. New guy will get it right in time. Prior week it was brown so my guess is he overwatered and didn’t cut enough due to wetness.

It ended a career and set back multiple recoveries for OU players. I honestly hope the various bush league stunts were worth not getting boa traced.
The field, getting Heupels teammates and coaches together to “honor Heupels national title year”. The real injuries were enough, we didn’t need a half dozen fake ones. But it worked. Heupel allowed Okie to keep their dignity another week.

The cleats staying planted and not giving? Thats pretty dangerous on any tackles below the belt.

It’s bad this year we had little to no rain this year … it’s normally one of the best fields in football green and beautiful … it was worse wk1 u could see brown stains … don’t know what happened maybe they practiced to much on field to give it time to recover … it’s a bad look for sure .

One of our players caught a kickoff, went to take off and slipped and fell. This is in no way talking about how are players should react But that's insane.

Yep, AU just spent millions putting in a computer controlled vacuum drainage system with sensors that water, heat and cool the field to optimal levels.
We still suck as a football team, though and I expect OU to win by 30.

There is nothing wrong with a field of God's ever flowing green grass. Football wasn't meant to be basketball on grass.

I’m one of those people that believe non contact injuries occur more on artificial grass vs real grass guys

Are you implying that is the normal condition of your field and it wasn’t a bush league stunt?
