Mississippi State gave us a lot of good and useful info about Mullen when he came over. What are some of the warts on Kiffin that will drive us mad?

Well for one he is going to turn you down for the second time since he got to Oxford.

Him turning y’all down in 2021 is the reason y’all panic hired Napier. Enjoy Gus bus

We didn't even consider him. Boosters like Gary Condron outspokenly were opposed to considering him for character reasons.

Gary Condron (Florida's biggest booster) said after Miami he would hire Kiffin now.

Questions about Florida's next coach

Wait until the end of the season. He's too busy winning 4 games a year at Colorado.

question for Florida fans....will yall get another win this season.

Im going to enjoy seeing the sadness on all the Florida fans faces this year as yall get beatdown over and over this year.

Cherry on top is going to be when Kiff takes your future super star QB out of the portal after yall make another terrible hire

Are we going to do this for the next 90 days? I feel like it’s Groundhog Day. And it has been ever since we stole Lane from Arkansas and people said he wouldn’t stay 3 years.

He will turn down Florida and they will say they never wanted him. Just like Auburn 2 years ago.

But it’s the SECrant and the average IQ is 75 so I guess we will keep doing this every day.

As much as I like to get on Ole Miss fans, shite you are crazy if you think that Kiffin is gonna leave Ole Miss for that dumpster fire in Florida, your glory days are over, accept it

Florida is not the job it used to be and it was only a power for a short period

If he thinks he can’t win a game, he is going to gamble a lot - even early. From any point on the field. You’ll know where his head is within the first five minutes of a game. You will probably lose the gamble games. They will get fewer and far between if he can work on…

His recruiting results at the high school level have been lackluster. He underperforms recruiting Mississippi by Ole Miss standards. On the flip side, he is an absolute master working the portal and roster management. At the end of the day, it’s been a net positive for Ole Miss.

His teams commit a lot of penalties and can appear to be undisciplined at times.

Off the field, he doesn’t make the social rounds. You rarely see him at alumni events. He is much more sociable on Twitter than in real life. Your broadcast booth is going to hate him - win or lose. I suspect your influential alumni are going to hate him as well - at least at first. He’s not going to come in and kiss anyone’s arse or be in awe of whatever you think Florida football is.

He will complain ad nauseam about whatever thing he’s fixated on about the fans or the University. Shame is a tool in his arsenal.

The longest job he’s had is five years. He is a bit of a wanderer by nature. I doubt that ever changes.

Looking at all of the above, you wonder how it works. He does hire good people and for the most part stays out of their way.

He is a good coach, but he is part of a very good team. If you don’t hire his GM, you are making a huge mistake. HUGE. You should try and hire his athletic director and executive director of his collective, as well. They are both Ole Miss alums, so that might be harder to pull off. Those four guys are totally in sync. I’d consider hiring his defensive coordinator, as well, although he might be in line to get the Ole Miss job.

This all, of course, assumes you can and will hire him. I’m not convinced that you can. I’m not convinced you cannot, either. I just wouldn’t assume it’s a slam dunk.

Florida and Alabama have been the programs conventional thought has pointed to as being threats. But Lane is a bit of an odd duck. No one should be surprised where he is coaching next year - Oxford, Gainesville or somewhere else.

Logistically, I do think Florida will need to thread the needle on the timing. Because this is a special team that Ole Miss has assembled. Barring catastrophe, they are not just headed for the playoffs, they are going to have a legitimate shot to advance.

Damn, OP asked for a little scoop and you deliver War & Peace

A good and thorough response, though. Well done.

Would he be willing to help to find the next HC for Florida? No way Meyer is going to be coaching college football again.
