Might as well fire up this now...

Seems like lots of people want Kiffin (count me in, wanted him to replace Mullen) but IDK if he's as available now as he was in 2021.

Jedd Fisch is another popular name. Have mixed feelings. Had 2 terrible seasons but then 1 good one at AZ. GA for Spurrier. Yeah he seems okay but 1 good season seems shaky. Kind of Napier-like, in the sense that there isn't a large enough body of work for me to feel confident. Just lost to Wazzu in the Apple Cup today, the only other UW coach to lose his first Apple Cup was Ty Whittingham. That's not a good list to be on.

UW fans might drive him out so he might be availble soon

The last person UF needs to hire is Fisch!!!
If we are looking at him then we would be better off keeping Napier.

They need to hire a true offensive minded coach. That will hire the best assistants possible for DC OC and O-line.
Make Lane say no then you have to have a a very good second name behind your first if they both say no.
Then interview and look extensively at guys like golesh and chadwell.

I know ucla is hot garbage right now but Indiana scoring 42 on them is eye opening. He's a name to watch although one wonders how much longer he coaches.

I want Kiffin. He’d light it up with lagway.

No more coaches who don’t have power 4 HC experience.

Most of us do. But he's not going to come. We really messed up not hiring him 3 years ago.

Well Mullen was the best coach of the last 4 so you kind of made my point.

Lane has the attitude to deal with noise from all sides. And there isn’t some plethora of available coaches that can take on Smart, Day, and Sark. I’d rather have a Top 5 mind over whatever this is.

As always, Go Gators

I haven’t heard anyone mention Kyle Whittingham. The past offseason he set up his coach in waiting to take over after he leaves. Could he get it done?

Stricklin to hire the new coach?

"Stricklin, who is facing criticism of his own after decisions to hire Dan Mullen and then Napier, has been informed the decision whether to fire Napier is his to make. In that scenario, Stricklin will also be tasked with searching for a new coach, sources familiar with the discussions at Florida told CBS Sports this week."

I could live with this as long as Stricklin is forced to consult with and ultimate get the approval of others, but I know that's not how it works...

Some say if he isn't fired he won't truly control this hire. Curious if they announce some group will be advising him on this pick.
