I was thoroughly unimpressed with Milroe having 3 completions at the half in game one vs Western Kentucky. The final score covered up the fact the starting QB had 7 completions in the game. Folks thats less than Grubb would dial up with Penix in one drive.

I thought for sure if DeBoer was gonna stick with MIlroe we would see some improvement. That is clearly not the case.

Sheridan behaving like a frat boy in the box with his emotions all over the place showed a total lack of composure and obviously experience. I feel like Sheridan is likely in over his skis, but then again Milroe has made every play caller he has had look really bad so who knows.

I would not give this offense, QB, or OC a good grade so far.

Alabama was in a one point fight for their lives late into a home game vs USF last night. It's gonna be a few days before I can rewatch this game if at all. This offense is hard to watch IMO.

He threw 9 passes. How many completions would have made you happy?

This is a dumb take. Watch the game instead of looking at the box score and you’d know why he only had 7 completions. Should we have had our receivers take a knee after the catch so that we could run more plays? Maybe tell the running backs to fall down after they get a first down?

Sheridan feels like a first-time playcaller. Execution at several spots is lacking but he also doesn’t seem to have much idea of how to set things up, and some of his calls definitely are questionable.

WR/TE - A (thanks to Williams)
RB - B-
OL - D
QB - C+

Has nothing to do with me... is 7 completions vs Western tumbleweed Kentucky ideal for you and the offense this season ?

I dont mind if you're good with that; Im checking the pulse of the room on what we are seeing so far.

I understand your sentiment, but I'd argue the box score in this case actually does paint a more clear picture of what is happening with the offense. There is no passing game, and therefore teams can tee off on the run game.

Growing pains. shite like this happens. We survived. We looked like total trash in many games the past few years and came out looking pretty good. Hell, we looked flat out retarded in a lot of games last year, but beat UGA and damn near went to the natty.

Thought the team handled adversity pretty well last night. How many times could the defense have just mailed it in? Offense finally unfricked themselves and clicked when we needed points. Yeah, we got problems and so do about 130 other teams.

It's frustrating to watch, but the days of fielding consistent teams are long over and we better get used to it. Murder ball died about 6-7 years ago. We can look amazing one week and the next we don't know a football from a stapler.

Win, suit up for Wisconsin and let's go.

7/9, 200 yards, and 3 TDs when the team wins 63-0 is ideal for me, yes, regardless of the opponent.

I'd rather not tell the skill players to chill with the explosive plays so that our QB can get more pass attempts.

Out of all the things to complain about in regard to Milroe and this offense, you have truly picked one of the stupider ones.

The offensive line needs to get Proctor back immediately and start Pritchett. That was a part of the problem last night. Other part was Milroe being Milroe.

Against WKU, we ran for 334 yards on 47 carries for an avereage of 7.1 yards per carry. They sure as hell teed off on our running game with Milroe only completing 7 passes!

Oddly enough, Western Kentucky decisively beat USF last year and would likely replicate that outcome if they played again this year.

No, it truly doesn’t. We had scoring drives in the first half of:

2 plays
4 plays
3 plays
2 plays
2 plays
2 plays

The quarterback can’t throw 20 passes in a half when your scoring drives are that short. We also rushed for 334 yards, so the idea that we were inhibited in that game is false as well.

Our offense was bad last night for most of the game. That falls on everyone involved, but Milroe was probably AT HIGHEST about fourth on the list of problems last night.

USF is a bad match up for Alabama because they have smaller and more athletic players on defense. Their coordinator was fearless attacking us with blitzes and stunts. The question that I have is, why wasn’t Formby pulled earlier for Pritchett ?

I think, barring injury, we have seen the last of Formby this year. I mean, that was as tough an individual OL performance as I can remember. He was clearly struggling with their edge speed.

I just wonder why it took so long to replace him. I appreciate that Pritchett might have been a little banged up, but he looked healthy once he was inserted

I don’t know. I think the coaches probably didn’t want to put 57 in and potentially him get hurt worse with what’s coming on the schedule, and probably kept thinking we’d pull away. But I agree, him playing that long was disgusting.

Formby reminded me of a memory I thought was buried in time, Chris Capps.
