Transylvania Land Company (?) was established in the 1700's in Kentucky. Transylvania College was a product of that I think. At one time had a better Medical school than Harvard. It has always been a private school but is now Transylvania University. Part of it was "spun off" to become what is now the University of Kentucky.
Hallmark Cards lost a lawsuit in the 1970's for using "Transylvania University" in a Halloween card. The real life Constantine Samuel Rafinesque-Schmaltz (his tomb is on campus) is way crazier than any fictional Dracula.

I didn’t know it was a school. I know it’s across the pond. Why did they pick that name? It seems, a bit out of place.

It's a small school about a mile from Rupp Arena. Very pretty little campus though. Right outside downtown Lexington, opposite side of town from UK.
Their nickname is the pioneers, hence pioneerbasketball.

This is their website itself, not the city site.
I did not go there, have friends who did. It's a very expensive school. They only have like 1500 students, but I used to work down the street from it and walk campus during my lunch time, it's very beautiful.

They have won some titles and been to a few final fours in their division. They had a coach there for like 40 years, who was my wife's neighbor growing up, and his son is the coach there now, and he's been there a few years, so that is pretty cool.

We dont get our offense figured out we will be sucking worse.
Have a decent defense now but now the offense sucks. Scale tipped from one end to the other.
