A&M itself is the problem.

It seems whoever comes here struggles and its time we stop saying coaches and players are the problem when in reality is US.

No matter who comes here they struggle. Kyler Murray, Haynes King, and Jimbo are perfect examples of this. Come to A&M, struggle, then go some where else and strive. Or strive somewhere else and come here and be horrible.

Texas A&M has never been winners & never will be. Because A&Ms biggest roadblock is themselves.

I think you meant "thrive" when you said "strive".

Their biggest problem is it’s not the 1930s

You have had a revolving door of young QBs in a tough league. The new 5 star wonder-kid who is never ready is always the savior. You need one to develop for a couple of years.

The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem.

You are off to a good start.

It’s literally coaching.

It’s always been coaching.

You can buy players but if you can’t coach them it doesn’t matter. Look at FSU, LSU, Notre Dame… etc.

Too much quick fix, big hire, blow money. Gonna take years of patience to raze the program to the bare ground and rebuild right. It's been rinse and repeat for decades.

There's nothing that attracts the straights.

The gays do well here -- it's cool for them -- the doms wear their military attire while the gals are milkmen -- but the alphas find they must move on.

But I wasn’t into A&M ... the student body was about two-thirds male. When I visited, it seemed like there were no girls, just a bunch of dudes from the school’s Corps of Cadets in military uniforms. They didn’t even have cheerleaders; they had male “yell leaders.” It just wasn’t what I was envisioning for my college experience.

I saw Shannon Sharpe and Chad talking and I agreed with them. They said the days of having good special teams and defenses that can mask when your offense struggles are over. The A&M offense is consistently inconsistent. You know how many games we’ve lost bc we can’t score 24 points in a game? Too many. Maybe they will gel into the playbook. We need Moose on the field. Moss is going to get 20-25 carries a game going forward as RB1. Klein needs to throw the ball downfield. This play calling was too horizontal passing wise. Needs to let Conner throw up balls to Moose or Noah and stop running pick routes for 5 yards.

You really gotta have it all to put it together. Why do people not see this?

Successful people and teams in life have it all.

I'm going to tell you how to fix this only because I know y'all won't do it.

Wipe all references to UTexas out of your cheers, songs, culture, etc. Wipe it out!! Delete! This ain't TAMC anymore. You have a 2nd class mentality engrained into the Aggie culture. Words can't defeat it, Money can't defeat it, Resources can't defeat it... It is entrenched. Get rid of it.

Every time something happens, don't compare it to tu. Stadium size, attendance, noise, wins/losses, recruiting, dikk size, STOP IT!!! tu is not the damn benchmark!!

Just say "Texas", stop with the "tu" stuff. Quit wearing ball caps with only a capital T. It only shows that Aggies just can't get past it. But they better, or this self-fulfilling prophecy will never end.

Like I said, I'm not worried that this will happen. So it is what it is.

Exactly.

There's no elite coaches to hire anymore. Paying the Jimbo Fishers of the world like they are is just dumb.

You have to give most coaches 4 - 5 seasons to see what they are.

Drink was literally 4-5 plays from a winning seasons in '21 and '22. No one wants to give coaches credit for being close but that's just stupid imo.

For one, if your coach is good, losing should build character.

If you aren't giving a coach a little bit of leash to lose some games then you are directly shitting on your team culture.

You're giving the players a bad message that they aren't allowed to make any mistakes and its just gonna create an individual environment rather than a team one.

You don't want the players on your team looking at the coaches blaming them for lack of success, you want them looking inward trying to get better.

Maybe use a contemporary example?

Dickerson was recruited in 1978.
Women weren’t officially allowed to enroll at Texas A&M (as full degree-seeking students) until 1963–only 15 years prior to Dickerson’s ball playing days.
And military service at A&M didn’t become voluntary until 1965.

Recruiting almost 50 years ago was slightly different than recruiting in 2024, when the numbers aren’t quite as skewed.

But it is wild how fans of some universities want to characterize Texas A&M as having always been on equal footing with other state universities (in terms of male/female and military/civilian numbers) when comparing historical win-loss records.

They aren’t. And history reflects this discrepancy.
Football recruiting at Texas A&M University in 2024, however, isn’t a problem.
I don’t think any serious person questions that.

As for the OP …

Enrollment increased by *8,000* students in *4* years?

Aiming to break that Moscow State record set back in ‘77, hey?

Our new plan is to eventually absorb all the other SEC schools so that they can’t beat us in football anymore.

Few Ags will disagree with you.
A tap of the brakes is imperative.
Last week Texas A&M University announced a much needed 5-year pause on any enrollment growth.
