You don't hire Brian Kelly to win national championships, you hire him to make you relatively competitive and occasionally have a season that fools you into thinking he might be a national title winning coach.

Yes, late career Mark Richt especially.
Good recruiting classes, plenty of talent on the field - especially at the skill positions, very questionable O-line play, a defense that flashes but still gives up scores at the worst times, poor discipline throughout the team, the coach looking catatonic on the sidelines while the team flounders. It's all incredibly similar.
