This type stuff will eventually lead to boosters not giving away millions in NIL money.

These control freak boosters will not like their money just disappearing for nothing in return.

By next season this guy could be in prison or just quit football all together.

In 5 years NIL will not be as big as it is now.

Basically this kid stole NIL money.

I believe after next season he will be out of eligibility since his clock started in the 2021 season. He's also exhausted his JUCO playing eligibility having already played 2 seasons of JUCO. Not really sure what his options are at this point football-wise.

I have no idea who Deion Smith is but 100% agree that there will be less NIL $s in the collectives in 5 years. Very few freshmen are worth even $100k when weighing the risk that they don’t work out or get hurt.

revenue sharing will likely lessen the reliance on the NIL booster collectives, then it might actually be more like what NIL was supposed to be - getting money for autographs or real NIL deals as it was intended to be

then schools can use the revenue sharing piece with requirement to actually play in all the games and tie it to games played

Deion Smith and Jacoby Matthews must not go to class at all because it's really hard not to remain eligible with all the support football players get, sad thing is it's two NFL talents

Want to fix NIL??? Players can’t get paid until they’ve been at the same school for 3 years…

Sneaking suspicion that Lambo is about to be repossessed. You don’t give players $$$$ (especially unproven players) without contract terms setting forth certain basic benchmarks - ie you will not be ruled ineligible. If they gave him all that money without a lawyer preparing an agreement then jokes on them,

I remember years before NIL, Coach Sherrill said if the athletes stayed at the school and graduated, we could give them a check on their way out the door. That concept sounded better to me than the chaos we are seeing now.

As long as coaches are being paid like they're entertainers instead of educators running an extracurricular activity, I will support NIL and laugh at their complaints about players being paid.

As long as fans want the school to sign an illiterate out-of-state 5 star over an in-state 4 star who's a quality student, I will support NIL and laugh and their complaints about loyalty.

Everyone likes to blame the players, but it's the greedy coaches and win-at-all costs fans who steered the car in the ditch by making college football a hell of a lot more important than it should be.

When did college coaches become educators?

Drink has brought Missouri up tremendously in football and brought similar improvements in how the team does in classes too.

It's about establishing a quality culture not just shoveling talent in the program.

Saban had the strong hand to do it up until last year but people like Kirby and Lane can only handle it so many years before their ship just blows up

A fool and his money are easily parted.

Let's give a dude that flunked out of one sec school an exotic car and a bunch of money.

Lol.

To have contracts athletes may have to be employees.

Also, this.

Hey, in 5 years you'll "vacate" some wins. Who gives a shite. You'll know who won.
