This is working out splendidly.

At this rate, what's to stop a player from suiting up for the opponent before kickoff.

Murray impermissibly contacted 17 prospects over 16 months, including 65 impermissible phone calls and 36 impermissible text messages. Murray indicated that he was not aware that a COVID-19 waiver of recruiting contact rules had expired.

Venables barely escaped punishment.
quote:

Head coaches are presumed responsible for the actions of their staff, and as a result, Venables violated head coach responsibility rules. In this case, however, some of the violations occurred prior to rules changes effective in January 2023 that shifted head coach responsibility rules from a rebuttable presumption to automatic. Because Venables was not personally involved in the violations and demonstrated that he promoted an atmosphere of compliance and monitored his staff, Venables rebutted his presumed responsibility for some of the earlier violations. For the same reasons, the parties also agreed that a suspension penalty for Venables was not appropriate.

OU's sudden recruiting upswing is a head-scratcher no more.

"Kentucky football has agreed to vacate all 10 wins from the 2021 season due to NCAA violations. The violations involved 11 Wildcats players receiving “impermissible benefits” for “work not performed” in the spring of 2021 and the following year.

As a result, the program will be placed on two-year probation. The vacated wins will likely come from the 2021 and 2022 seasons, during which Kentucky posted a 17-9 record.

No specific games have been identified as being affected by the vacated wins. However, it is likely that multiple games from the 2021 season will have their outcomes nullified, including home games at Kroger Field and away games against conference opponents."

On a side note, DeMarco Murray is the perfect example of a modern day RB’s short career. He led the NFL in rushing at the age of 26. He was out of the league by 30.

Please get off Oklahomas’ jock.
They are now SEC ready and as such they’re to receive the benefits that could be perceived to be against NCAA regulations. (Everybody in the SEC does it). Therefore sit your stinky little arse down and stfu.

South Carolina just had a transfer wr from Louisville transfer back to Louisville just last week because he couldn't break into the 2 deep rotation.

Doesn't OU hold the title for most major violations of all time? I think this is just SOP for OU.

You are incorrect sir. Oklahoma just happens to be a mega utopia where all the great football players (mostly from Texas) want to be. Nothing in Texas compares to the majestic magnificence of Norman, OK. It's just so hard to compete with that.

Especially legally.
