Naw. Muppets treasure island
was my childhood. I also loved
the Muppet Mayhem series.
Nostalgia for reals.

I bet you are not aware of the REAL Muppets!

They were a late night show and very adult humor.

Rumored to be based on my youth.

The original Muppets were very adult and part of the initial season of Saturday Night Live. When the Muppets took off the adult themed show was not deemed appropriate and it vanished like a fart in the wind. However some of them were "reincarnated" in the G rated "Dark Crystal" movie.

That nerd show? I’ve never seen it but I
know what it is. I may need to watch it.
I loved the SNL I grew up with. Now it sucks.

Will Ferrell was a cast member on
Saturday Night Live from 1995 to 2002.
I assume that’s a lot of why I love him
and all his comedy.

He died because he didn't exist?

SNL started in 1975. Henson joined Sesame Street in 1969.

I was thinking 1977, but sounds right

Key word being "joined"

Muppets joined Sesame Street
Muppets were incorporated to the start of SNL
Muppets (sows, movie, etc) were free standing start up

And they had been on Sesame Street for 6-7 years before SNL.

The bolded part is what my Trump gif was referring to.
