Texas - Some of the nicest fans I've ever experienced.
Southern Cal - Pretty Stuffy & Reserved. Yacht Club types,
Auburn - Loudmouth Yahoos,
Florida - obnoxious, seem to think way too highly of themselves.
Georgia - Not overly friendly or obnoxious, just kind of there.
Miami - Bunch of trash wearing old/dirty Jerseys & trying to start fights.
Cal - Probably the happiest/friendliest fans.
Ohio State - Real nice, Invited us to some killer tailgates to eat for free,
Michigan - Kind of like the Southern Cal fans, Just kind of stuffy & there.
Wisconsin - Yeah, they put away some alcohol.

The most beautiful female fan base goes to Texas and it's not even close.
(And no I'm not affiliated with Texas in any way, but man their women were impressive).

I went to the LSU vs West Virginia game and those hillbillies are awful.

Also went with a neighbor (he went to Texas) to Columbus, Ohio to see the Texas-Ohio State game and their fans are the absolute worst. Even Florida fans are better than them.

The West Virginia fans back in 2011 when we (LSU) went there were BY FAR the worst acting folks I have ever been to a game with.

- Penn State and Oklahoma fans were probably the friendliest visiting Tuscaloosa
- LSU fans are much worse when they win than after losing, and they're the only ones who react this way in my experience
- Florida fans are the worst in the SEC
- 99% of fans are completely normal people who cause no problem
- Georgia fans are mostly okay, but their "bad" fans are much worse than other "bad fans" of other teams
- Alabama women are worse than the men

ETA: I didn't read the title fwiw... these are just my general thoughts.

For away games, nothing remarkable other than Florida fans sucking- we're passive people and UF is the only place people came up to us unprovoked to try to start something.

Probably 45 or so. Been to every stadium in SEC we have played at in the last 30 years. Been to all B12 sites and former SWC teams. Generally nice fans everywhere.

A few Miss St fans were assholes.

More than a few LSU were drunk assholes.

Texas Tech fans are the worst in my opinion.

All 3 of these schools say nasty stuff to opposing female fans. Just not a pleasant trip with wives and daughters. That’s my opinion.

Bingo. tOSU and OU fans tie for worst ever. Arkansas fans are next.

aggy fans are quiet because Texas is generally on a win streak against them.

Ole Miss fans are awesome. Auburn fans are, um, interesting.

Baylor fans know their place except during the RG3 season.

Michigan and USC fans (both at the Rose Bowl) were better than expected.

Nebraska and Kentucky football fans are the nicest.
Ole Miss fans have been hit and miss.
Aggie fans are weird, but friendly.
Ohio State fans seemed much nicer than the OU fans, which surprised me.
Wisconsin fans seemed cool.
Arkansas fans can be a bit much when they are winning, luckily that doesn't happen often.
Georgia - another post summed it up- Not overly friendly or obnoxious, just kind of there
Illinois fans traveled well.
Marshall surprised at how small their band was.
Texas Tech fans spend a lot of money on cowboy boots.
1993 was in the French Quarter for New Year's eve, Florida played West Virginia the following night in the Sugar Bowl. If the Dome would have collapased not sure if it would have bothered me.

That was my experience at the Ohio State game.
A bunch of old women were like "You boys get over here and get some food".
They had quite an impressive spread and were fixing us plate after plate,
It was like a Mini Thanksgiving.

Been to a lot of bama lsu games in all sports but the 2005 bama fans on the ramp were awesome. Helped block to fix a drink, great game and safe trip when it was over, turned south walking to our car. Started with Tuscaloosa police and ended with frat bros telling us we should’ve died in Katrina. I actually lived in Alaska at the time and flew in that day for the game.

I agree with the following:

quote:

Southern Cal - Pretty Stuffy & Reserved. Yacht Club types,
Auburn - Loudmouth Yahoos,

Georgia - Not overly friendly or obnoxious, just kind of there.

These aren't super accurate:

quote:

Texas - Some of the nicest fans I've ever experienced
Ohio State - Real nice, Invited us to some killer tailgates to eat for free,

I didn't find Texas fans to be overly friendly. OSU were closer to Florida fans than your assessment.

Also:

Oklahoma - Great fans. Seemed really nice for the most part.
Utah - Surprisingly drunk and obnoxious. Like OSU and UF fans, except WAAAY more drunk.
Clemson - Ok fans. Prone to believe their team is much better than it actually is.
Virginia Tech - Not bad fans. Just a little dull.
West Virginia - Drink like Wisconsin and LSU fans, but less interesting.
LSU - Walking contradictions. Happy to share a beer or some food, while simultaneously screaming Tiger Bait in your face. Even if it's you sharing your food and beer.
Tennessee - Not particularly bright, but they love their team. Antifa in orange. They're going to destroy some shite if they lose, and they're going to destroy some shite if they win.
Penn State - Proud of their team and tradition. Despise OSU fans. Have seen them several times, but all were prior to Sandusky.

Bama/UT 2009 season: Went to the 2010 ‘Rose Bowl’ BCS ‘ship. We were in town a few days and leading up to the game I found the UT fans to be cooler and more fun than most. Seriously had a lot of fun with a bunch of those guys. And then the game happened, and it was just a complete jekyll and hyde scenario. I don’t talk shite at games, because, you know, I’m an adult. And yet, all these bitch-arse clowns just came out of the woodworks getting in our faces, just crying about Colt and the asterisk trophy. It was the funniest and most gratifying shite ever walking out of that stadium.

Bama @ Penn State 2011: PSU fans were exceptionally cool and hospitable, just proud to share their beautiful city and shared passions with us. Little did we all know what evil lurked inside their program at the time.

Ohio State - passionate fans that are very rude to opposing teams fans.
Florida - Fans are okay, but very obnoxious to visiting fans when they are winning and pouting when they are losing
Tennessee - fun atmosphere generally, but leave early when the game is not going their way
Vandy - bless their hearts

Been to every SEC stadium except Missouri, Florida and Red Stick, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. For the most part every SEC campus I have been to had fans who were very nice and welcoming and a small number who weren't. Never had any issues anywhere.

Georgia Tech - fans are welcoming and its a good atmosphere when the Jackets are winning a few...when I lived in Atlanta I went to several Thursday night games at Tech to pull against the Jackets and it was always fun.

Been to UGA bowl games with fans from Wisconsin, Ohio State and Purdue for certain, probably more than that but I can't recall them all...and those fans were fun to hang out with. Wisconsin fans particularly...they are very good people.

I have been to Lubbock several times for Texas Tech games....pretty fun, good crowd, but they know almost NOTHING about football. Damnedest thing I ever witnessed amongst people at a football game, it was very similar to youth football or high school football at a low level as far as fan awareness of what was going on in the game. Nice people but if you did not know better you'd think it was their first exposure to football. These were not rent a wins either....these were conference games.

Been to Austin several times. Good crowd, very similar to a UGA crowd prior to Mark Richt....lot of people, very quite and not paying a lot of attention to the game. Good atmosphere before and after but the game its self is an event to see and be seen and thats about it. Nothing at all like a UGA game against a rent a win.

Been to a couple of Baylor and TCU games on campus and at Jerry World. Very similar to Texas Tech....lots of good people, very little interest in the game.

Finally went to the Rose Bowl game against Oklahoma. Very similar crowd to a SEC game. They were very friendly and were as good at talking shite as they were about getting shite talked...very fun fan base and knowledgeable. The game probably had more to do with that than anything.....ticket prices kept the casual fan away and the game itself was as good as CFB gets.

From what I have witnessed at Austin Baja Oklahoma fans do not know, in large part, what going on the road in the SEC is going to be like. The games I have been to in Austin were not rent a wins, they were conference games against the likes of Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech...seems like others as well but can't remember them. The fans were almost completely detached from the games and the games were very competitive. UGA games were very similar prior to Mark Richt's arrival at UGA - UGA is now about as loud and boisterous as anyone, but back in the day it was an event where the game was noise in the background....my experience at Austin is exactly that.

Austin was a pro football environment before the sport turned into a minor league. Given the kids are now hired guns, I expect fan detachment to grow everywhere.
