mcarron was solid. didn't have the focus to stay longer in the nfl. career backup isnt a bad thing.

Stay longer? AJ was on a NFL team last season. The guy has hung around the league for over a decade and made about $20 million. He had a brief shot at being the full time starter before they drafted Josh Allen in Buffalo, but got injured in the preseason and pretty much became a career backup....which is the best gig in the game. McCarron has probably one of the most decorated careers ever for a college QB...Heisman runner up, Maxwell Award and, most importantly, owner of 3 NC rings.

As far as Bama QBs that won a NC...Barker was definitely the worst QB in the year the NC was actually won, but by '94 he was a very good QB.

Jake Coker didn't do anything in the NFL, but he had one great college season when he won the NC...kinda like Joe Burrow did.
