Derrick Henry (2)

Likely won't get his due until the posters on this board who were in their 20s when he played at Alabama start aging out. He is without question one of the greatest RBs in the history of the SEC

This. Put aside any recency bias. Henry belongs in the same conversation as Herschel and Bo. Now some won't agree because it's been a "Herschel/Bo" debate for almost 40 years and it's just automatic for some...but any rational person knows Henry has made it a 3 player debate for the best SEC RB in history. It doesn't hurt his perception either for having a much better NFL career than either of the other two guys.

NFL success is irrelevant in discussing the best college careers.

He’s the best of the rest but it’s hard to argue that he was better than the other two.

eh

When people want to talk stats, specifically his 2000 yard season, it's easy to dismiss the fact that bowl stats didn' count until 2002. Henry had 15 games to accumulate stats compared to 11 for the other guys.

the prime of Herschel's professional career was spent in the USFL. Herschel's total professional football career stats absolutely dwarf henry's, by a ton.
