Cornbread is one whole category, too many great ways to use it/make it

There is only one Thanksgiving dressing in the south - cornbread dressing.

Brisket and other beef is worldwide

Just because you live just north of the Mexican desert doesn't mean you get to sky scream about "breakfast tacos"

If it's a Spanish word that southerners don't use on a regular basis, disqualified

Mexican food and Italian food are... drumroll please... Mexican food and Italian food. We all love it, but this tournament is American Southern food

Different kinds of Po Boys could have their own Field of 32 tournament, so Schrimp Po Boys and Sausage Po Boys will suffice in this field. Muffaletta is in there too.

Is venison one category or split up between deer sausage and general deer steak?

Catfish is at least a #2 seed IMO

When I was a kid we’d go to bonanza steak house to eat and I’d always get the chicken fried steak with gravy with a baked potato I’d load up with butter and sour cream. Do they still have bonanzas around anymore?
