Texas A&M 2.0

Getting top class because you have to pay them doesn’t translate to locker room cohesion

The other issue is top flight players no longer care about college or success at the college level. It's a stepping stone for getting to the NFL.

Getting drafted ten spots better is more important than winning games in college.

Very interesting to note.

So I looked up their 2020 and 2015 classes.

Only 1 Oregon recruit signed in 2020.

Makes sense right....state of Oregon is just not known for football?

As I've pointed out multiple times, it's not about how much money you have, it's about how much you are willing to spend.

Does Tim Cook at all give a shite about Auburn football? I know I've read something about him being an Auburn football fan before he ever went to Auburn, but I never hear anything about him donating to the program or anything.

Of course, I don't keep track of all things Auburn, so maybe I missed it.

Agreed. But, the geographical footprint of this class is crazy, even for them.

Interesting you say that, because literally my first thought was Miami in the late '80s as an example of those guys who were elite, probably were bought, and maybe weren't the best at "practice" (because they were out committing armed robberies).

Except... they tapped into the fertile recruiting grounds of South Florida, and most of those guys had a chip on their shoulders as motivation.

Not sure if bringing out-of-state guys into Eugene would have the same effect — and I'm not being facetious, I literally don't know if NIL money alone would be enough of a motivation without some other external factor like they had. We've already seen guys like Quinn Ewers jump ship despite being paid exorbitantly.

Phil Knight has been trying to buy a national championship for damn near 20 years now.

They don't recruit in state because most of the cities are leftist shite holes, and only 2% of the population is black.

This is unfortunately 100% true for some guys.

I've witnessed elite (NFL) athletes shut it down when games are on the line, i.e. hard, just because they had already done enough in the first half.

frick every one of those assholes, but they do exist.

Oregon does not have an offensive or defensive lineman in the top 150.

They will not win a Title if this remains true.

Historically, their problem has been physicality at the LOS. That’s changing.

Not sure...but Auburn would wear rainbow uniforms if he would. We know Freeze has no morals.

Like LSU is right up there in the top recruiting class. Plus, Fisher was the problem not the players. Oregon will be fine.
