Welcome..yes, welcome to the SEC. Honestly, every school here, including Vanderbilt, was doing what we do…WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS. Be ready for every single Saturday, on the road and home, for a FIGHT. You are not playing Kansas, Texas Tech, Baylor …or whatever silly 45,000 stadium you played in. You will be battling a different animal.

Yes, we've been hearing this for what? Three years now?

Seems like we spent all last summer listening to SEC fans talking about how Texas was going to fold in front of an SEC night crowd in Tuscaloosa because Texas had NO IDEA...what home field advantage meant.

So you are 0-1 with this theory from 2023... but hey... "the gauntlet"... right?

Well...this season... guess what... Texas doesn't go to Knoxville, Texas doesn't go to Starkvegas... Texas doesn't go to Tuscaloosa... Texas doesn't go to The Plains, Texas doesn't go to the Swamp... Texas doesn't come to Death Valley.. Texas doesn't go to the Grove... and Texas doesn't go to Athens...

So for the Longhorns... they don't go to any of the eight places you listed... So unless you put your trust in the Hogs, Ags or Vandy... you might have to wait another year for Texas to get "the gauntlet"....

Say what you will, go into Lubbock and play Texas Tech at night. Be sure to attend the game. Get back to me about how EASY it is.

That STD factory is PASSIONATE about CFB.

You mean that national championship LSU team that barely beat a 7-5 Longhorn team

Most everyone knows that Memorial in Austin isnt known as a overly loud or immensely difficult to play. Certainly have some home field advantage but probably not even in the Top 20. They can argue against it all day but I have seen probably a dozen games there and NO WAY it is anything compared to many of the SEC and even ACC games I have been to.

And a TON has to do if they are winning or not. If they lose a few games early, fans stop showing up.

Alabama star Will Anderson thinks otherwise.

quote:

"To be honest, since I've been here these last three years, this is probably the loudest environment I've done played in," Anderson said. "Probably the hardest game I've played in since I've been in college football. Their fans were super loud, they had a lot of energy. But the atmosphere was crazy."

I expect Texas home game atmosphere will become more raucous with the better SEC competition coming to town.

You mean like that time the PA announced this Kyle crowd as 90,177?
