All the IRL Texas fans/alum I know are unanimous in their enthusiasm for and appreciation of the SEC. It’s energized donors, ticket sales, & interest in ways I haven’t seen in quite a while.
We have a ton of respect for the championship excellence here in all sports. We’re excited to reignite old rivalries and build new ones. And, having graduated from an SEC school, I know our fans are going to thoroughly enjoy the tailgating and traditions of SEC game-days.
So, glad to be here baws and excited about this next chapter. HOOK’EM

The one thing I keep telling my sip friends is that every weekend will feel like a bowl for the first 2-3 years. (In our case, whenever Georgia finds it's way to Kyle Field, finally.
The level of the fanbases is LIGHTYEARS of what you are used to in the Big XII.
Soak it all in and enjoy.

You had some, until "HOOK’EM"
Otherwise, you'll soon find that pleasantries are not very acceptable here among the majority.
Welcome. Enjoy.

So, I still wanted to say I’m glad to officially be here.

No secrets in the SEC. It has absolutely the best athletes in college sports at the high school level. We care in the South about football and almost everything else that chases a ball. We pay for the best coaches and have some of the best facilities in this country.
The SEC is about to offer you, on a regular basis, all the advantages the shorthorns and sooner have enjoyed over the B12 competition.

Oh God, not this crap again.
Look, the top 1/3 of the SEC is exponentially better than the rest of college football, no doubt. The rest of the SEC is no better than the Big 12.
Every week seemed like a bowl to aggies because joinin the SEC was your ultimate goal. You can't win a national title, so basking in the success of Bama, UGA and LSU is all you have.
Texas will have its ups & downs in the SEC. However, at our peak, when we are playing well, we will reperesent the conference at the level it deserves, which is something a&m could never do.

Lmao you cannot be serious. Texas fans were shitting on the SEC for the past 10 years, basically calling everyone dumbass poor hicks.
Real about turn on that one eh.
Real about turn on that one eh.

Make to mistake, Texas is proud to be a part of the SEC, and Texas is energized like never before.
The most surprising thing about yesterday was how surprised the SEC Network was about the reception from Texas, and Austin.
I realized for the SEC Network broadcast team, most of them had never been to Austin until this week. Every Texas coach, and many existing and former players were on stage yesterday for the 4 hour Texas infomercial. That's a lot to process, and it couldn't have gone any better.

quote:
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey took the stage Sunday night after Texas regents chairman Kevin Eltife gave a rousing speech to the crowd of thousands that included these closing comments:
"I hope we see you all in DKR, Moody, Disch-Falk and all of our sporting events,
We need you there! You can find me. I'll buy you a beer! We'll put it on Del Conte's tab!!!
In the famous words of Pitbull - Mr. International: 'Tonight, I want all of you tonight! Give me everything tonight! For all we know, we might not get tomorrow!' We may have a bit of a headache in the morning, but we will be in the SEC!"
Sankey then took the stage channeling Texas' Minister of Culture Matthew McConaughey:
"All right, all right, all right.
They told me I was gonna follow the board chair when I spoke," Sankey added. "I've followed board chairs before. But I've never followed a board chair who spoke like that!"
Sankey closed his comments by saying,
"I realize I am the one thing standing between you and Pitbull, and I'm smart enough to know that you are done listening to me except for one more thing: I want to say welcome to the University of Texas and the Texas Longhorns to the Southeastern Conference! I'm gonna go make some noise!"

Your preconceptions of my meaning bit you in the arse. I’m specifically speaking to the atmosphere.
But, you keep being the miserable version of you that you first resort to. Way to be an arse to someone who was merrily being polite.
