Same reason Saban was so much better at Alabama than LSU.

Alabama is the common denominator.

It's a place where good coaches become great, elite.

Alabama is 1 of 1. Nobody can or will replicate their success.

Coach Saban mused that when he was elsewhere he wondered what it would be like coaching at a place like BAMA. 17 years later the statistics speak for themselves. A lot of different coaches have won titles at ALABAMA because that is the way the school defines itself. But only 2 were the best of the best. It is an amazing run.
