Part 2:

Live Music, Pep Rally and Drone Show

Live music will be featured inside the stadium from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and will be followed by a pep rally with the Pride of Oklahoma and OU Spirit, as well as short addresses from President Joseph Harroz Jr. and Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione. The evening will close with a drone show at 9:50 above the south end zone.

Shop and Hop Challenge

Oklahoma fans are encouraged to discover Norman while shopping for new OU x SEC attire throughout the day on July 1. Fans can engage in a 'passport challenge' using the Visit Norman app. The greater the number of visits they make to participating stores, the higher their chances of winning one of five grand prizes by presenting their passport at "Party In The Palace" that evening.

Student-Centric Celebration Forthcoming

To ensure students have an opportunity to fully participate in festivities, the university and athletics department will host a celebratory event featuring a musical artist scheduled near the start of the fall semester. Additional details are forthcoming.

One thing to note, I only see OU and tx doing a celebration entering a new conference. Tells me the other schools are not as excited or proud. Its possible I missed it but all the new B12 teams plus all the new B10 teams. Are they celebrating?

I think these 2 teams are the biggest shift in college. Those complaining, no conference was going to stay the same. TV pays the bills and SEC did the smart thing by adding 2 big historical teams. It kept the footprint regional and next to conf states. By contrast both B10 and B12 in trying to keep up have teams scattered all over the country. That will catch up in a few years when they likely have to cut some minor sports.

Like it not or not we’re here. We love football as much as any other SEC team. We’ll all forge new friendships at new venues and create new rivalries full of piss and vinegar. And drink a beer afterwards.

I don’t speak for everyone but everyone I know is looking forward to the move and new places to travel plus new customs to learn and get used to.

This having a celebration was done with much thought and future thinking. It also tells the SEC that OU has a ton of respect for them to warrant such a big event. They are not half assing it, because they respect the new conference. Gives an idea of thinking, at least at highest levels of OU.
